I'm planning on heading down to the conference tournament this year, and was wondering if you could provide some advice. Where do other Cyclone fans hang out between sessions, good places to eat, etc. But specifically about how the scalping process works. I know it's legal to do in Missouri, but how does it compare to buying tickets off of stubhub or from the Sprint Center? Trying to plan the financials accordingly for the wife and myself. Thanks for the help!
Right across the street from the Sprint there will be Cyclone fans in various restaurants/bars. Last year i picked up a ticket online because I wanted to make sure I sat in the Cyclone section. Paid around $130 I believe for lower level. I have not heard what sections we will be in this year but when I find out I will purchase tickets on line.
A place we like to go to where the service is good and so is the scenery is Quaffs. Always lots of ISU folk in there. Of course with the tournament split that may not be the case any more, but worth a try.
We were able to scalp lower bowl tickets for $30/seat about 5 minutes before tip-off since ISU was the last game of the night. Scalpers were complete d***s negotiating before the Missouri game but once that game was over they were low balling each other to sell them. Another tactic you can try is buying tickets off fans from earlier games. Ran across some Mizzu fans selling their tickets for $15/each, upper level (game before us).
We usually purchase full session passes (uppers ~ $200). Then we'll sell off the non ISU session unless there's a really interesting session we want to see. Up to this point we've always gotten our money back and then some, and watched ISU play for free. If ISU would win some games that would no longer be the case, but obviously thats what we're all hoping for!
