    New Verizon Phone Help!!!!

Please tell me we can still upgrade to a regular non-smart phone at Verizon. We have been to two places that say it's not an option anymore! I don't want a monthly data plan charge, just a regular phone for all of us. And if not an option, what is the best data plan Verizon deal that you can get for 4 people. Our only quote is $220 per month for 3 smart phones, one "regular" phone and with mid-range data (not sure the data number). Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stopped going to brick n mortar cell stores when I started to know more about there product than their employees did.

look online at amazon or wirefly or bestbuy. Scroll through those. You wont have interrupt existing service, usually the deals as better to, and you don't have waste time in line.

    Re: New Verizon Phone Help!!!!

Yes you can. My wife just got one. You have to select basic phones. All non basic phones require data. I'm not sure if you can start a new plan, but if you're upgrading you should be able to keep your current plan.

My suggestion is to go to the Verizon website. Not only can you see a full line of phones but the phones are cheaper. Instead of the $50 mail in rebates they just have that as instant savings.

Verizon rebates are BS anyway. Neither my wife nor I ever received one of those $50 mail rebates. It got to the point where a Verizon store rep told us we should just buy online.

    Re: New Verizon Phone Help!!!!

I looked to keep my single phone plan a few months back when my old Razr pooped out. Didn't want to upgrade to smartypants phone at this time and the plain jane phones they have are junk. I ordered an old style Razr Vm3 from an ebay store. It was a new in box set for Verizon. I did the online setup/activation and was good to go in 15 minutes after I pulled it out of the box and no plan change.

    Re: New Verizon Phone Help!!!!

If you are unhappy with Verizon I would recommend Page Plus. Its a prepaid service that uses V's network. If you want 4 phones with 1200min 3000texts and 250mb (each phone) for $29,99. Making it $120 for all phones. They also have a plan with 250min 250 texts and 10mb for $12 if anyone is a light user.

They do sell phones but most people I know on PP get used Verizon phones via Craigslist or ebay.

The great thing about prepaid is if you dont like it after a month you dont have to pay anymore. Good luck dont get locked into thinking on the the big four are the only options. There are a ton of great prepaid serveries out there (Page Plus, Ting, Airvoice, Plantiumtel.)

    Re: New Verizon Phone Help!!!!

You still can. First, avoid the stores. The employees are clueless. Second, understand a lot of those stores are not affiliated with wireless companies in any way. Many are individually owned businesses that are licensed to sell certain companies' wireless plans. Depending on where you went, you may or may not have been speaking to someone who was actually employed by Verizon.

Go to their website and do it there. They'll overnight ship your new phone for free and you'll be up and running in no time. And you won't have to deal with any morons.
