Collection too big for 1 lifetime...

and it can all be yours for the low low price of.....$550K

eBay: over 30 years of VIDEOGAMES COLLECTUIN...The story of VideoGames!!!

But seriously, as cool as it would be to play a bunch of that stuff, I can't imagine the amount of money lost by that guy just to acquire all of that in the first place. Granted, I think that's why it is such an insanely high price tag.

-The games count over 6850 pcs. with about 6780 boxed and 70 loose, and are in various format NTSC Japan or Usa and also PAL.

-The consoles are over330, with 307 system boxed and 24 loose, and even in this case we have all the different standards.
-The controllers are about 220 with 167 boxed and 52 loose. I included all the kind of controller, from the simple joypad to the special controller like all the konami bemani to the densha de go train controller, and the arcade joystick as well.
-The accessories are about 185, and in this category I put the ac adapters, the various av cables, the rumble packs, the memory cards, battery packs, the converters for the region locked games, and various other items like screens, printers etc.

Not sure he has enough controllers to consoles. What happens if the controllers go on the blink playing 7k games? Guess I will not bid on this due to this deficiency. May God have mercy on his wife.

That's why he's selling them all. He must have found someone willing to tough his joystick.

And on the flip side, I know darn well some of you are touching your joysticks while reading about the stuff he has.

doesn't it cost 35 cents per picture to sell on ebay? half of that price tag must be the ebay sellers fee!

Re: Collection too big for 1 lifetime...

This is a pretty sweet collection. I don't know about 550k worth, but amazing. I looked at the pictures and the volume alone is staggering. I don't know that he can fit all into one freight container. I'd say this would sell in the 200k - 300k range. 550k is full retail for these items. Collecting video games is a dangerous venture as most games lose value. For example, of the 6800 games he has, buying them in a retail setting yields 345k in out-of-pocket costs. Not many people are going to pay full retail for alot of these games. That said, vintage sealed games can yield up to 1/2 of original retail value (on average). For example, I have a Transformers toy collection that is massive (which has a huge value). If I were to sell it, I know I would want full retail for these toys but I'm likely to get 50-70% of market value.

Sidenote, video games obviously consumed this man. I looked at the photos and videogames were everywhere in this man's living area. I'm not going to make the leap and say he was a loner, but a collection this vast takes a disgusting amount of time and money to accrue (which would suggest an isolation based existence). This is, of course, all speculation.
