It doesn't help the situation that CF shows up in Internet searches before Wiki.

    Re: Time for a change

This just seems odd. The twitter stuff aside, the point of the forum is to discuss ISU athletics and that includes the players. If everyone has to bs everything and refrain from all things negative, then it becomes a bs propaganda forum. I think 95+% of people here are respectful to the ISU programs and often chastise those that are idiots. To me, it seems like many many other boards are far more negative then cf.
now the twitter crap like what happened with Lucious is down right embarrassing and those people should have their Internet privileges revoked.

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls

Well I am happy with who we got, I am not into starz and a whole bunch of offers from BCS schools, is it nice? sure, is it factual? no. Who knows what a student athlete brings when he/she arrives on campus. It sounds like we got guys who want to be here which is great. Welcome aboard future Cyclones!!

IMO It's only natural that a recruit would check out CF to see what we, supposedly the most avid or fanatic fans, are like and what we have to say about the team or coach they are considering. For the most part we are almost reverential in our treatment of CPR and CFH and their programs but some times we get a bit snarky with the "no starzz", "out of gas" and "no other good offers" comments which we then beat to death trying to be witty. I do believe you have to be pretty damned thin skinned to take personal affront at those comments but I suppose if you are having a bad day/week and some other school is telling you how wonderful you really are then it may color your thinking. I am not the guy that says if you don't have something nice to say then shut up but maybe if we, in general, remember that prospects do read this board. That said, Why the hell did we not get Holton after we slobbered all over his highlight video?? (at least I did) So, from here on out it is okay to make polite comments but no more "TRIBUNING" That is still a cool FB name and I am glad he is a CYCLONE.

    Re: Time for a change

There will always be people in society that get a payoff for being a contaminator. Cyclone Fanatic however does not have to allow them to spread their contamination on these boards.

These boards have evolved into a haven for just such people. It doesn't have to remain a haven for them. A different approach to moderating these boards could go a long way in cleaning up this type of behavior.
