Re: least favorite announcer/color guy in any given sport?

I don't watch much sports other than college FB and BB. Vitale makes a game unwatchable for me - or at least unlistenable if I mute it. No other announcer affects me the same way. Maybe Zabel on Hawk radio games but I try to make it a point to not listen.

No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine.

Re: least favorite announcer/color guy in any given sport?

Dan Dierdorf. The guy is a complete tool and never knows how to shut his flapping trap. It wouldn't be so bad, but half the time he's talking about what a great family this player or that player comes from, etc. nothing to do with the game and nothing that really needs to be yapped about incessantly. And when he does talk football, he brings out gems like, "Folks, if he'd have caught that, that would have been a touchdown." When a guy drops a ball in the end-zone. Thanks Dan, I forgot what happened when guys caught the ball in the end-zone.

I cannot watch a game the guy is doing anymore. Since he usually gets the lead CBS game anymore, I rarely see AFC football.

Podolak and Hanson are two of the biggest a-holes around and the fact they are Hawks has nothing to do with me hating them.

Re: least favorite announcer/color guy in any given sport?

    1. Dookie V. Ridiculous that someone who is supposed to be a national announcer gets away with fellating primarily one coach and program and secondarily one conference.

    ...

    4. Ken Harrelson - His "he gone" schtick makes him sound like an even bigger idiot than he sounds regularly - which takes a herculean effort.

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

These two bozos were doing a K-State football game against someone this year, can't even remember whom it was, but it was the game they took Collin Klein out cause he was a little injured. K-State was blowing out the other team. These two sounded drunk off their derrieres. They gave up talking about the game, football, and even sports and blabbered mindless junk for most of the second half. I kept watching because I wanted to see what the backup qb was like but had to mute them.

Same thing when Notre Dame was blowing out Boston College. They decided to have Mike Golic come in the booth and he seemed embarrassed by how bad they were and started trying to do a little play by play.

Herbstreit is a Big Ten shill and Musberger is an ancient perv. Just awful.

For those who mentioned Collinsworth, got to say I agree he is terrible too. I like most things about the NBC Sunday Night Football except him.

I can't stand Musberger. I don't know how Herby can work with him.

Good call on Podolackie ... he and Zipper Lip Zabel. Those two are/were as pathetic as it gets.

Thankfully Shannon Sharpe only does halftime "analysis" or he'd be right up there. He's essentially impossible to understand most of the time ...

The only thing I understood that Sharpe was saying during the blackout at the Super Bowl was that "da raven turned da light out."

Re: least favorite announcer/color guy in any given sport?

I know he doesn't do games anymore, but the one who is probably worst is Madden. All the ******** we are doing on here about announcers was started by that boob. He was the first one to come in and yuk it up on National TV. At first it was a nice change of pace, he did kind of teach the game a little bit, but it gave everyone else a tiny match and they burned the whole thing down. The only reason I laugh when I hear Frank Caliendo do Madden is that towards the end of Maddens career, Caliendo was easier to understand than Madden.

Vitale and Joe Buck. Will never forget the way Joe Buck reacted to Randy Moss fake mooning the Green Bay crowd, and how disgusted he seemed at someone FAKE mooning.

Gary Dolphin--Huge homer and whiner. Blames officials for Franny's childish outbursts.
    Phil Simms- Brutal
Jim Nantz- Great doing golf, but horrible on everything else
LaPhonso Ellis- Guys voice just drives me nuts and I don't need any more Notre Dame stories...

Going the other way, Mitch Holthus does an incredible job with basketball on TV. Guy should get more love.

Joe Buck is is my least favorite for sure. Gary Dolphin and his "buddy boy", Hawk Harrelson, Joe Morgan, and Tim McCarver are right up there too.

Nearly everyone on ESPN (especially ESPNU) for basketball not named Bob Knight. I love Knight as an analyst and a color commentator. There are probably others I do like on ESPN, but I don't know who they are.
