A Win at Texas No Longer a Given

Texas started the season on a fairly decent note. Injury and inner turmoil took it's toll. They slid to a point that it appeared they might go winless in the Big 12. However they have rallied somewhat, and the youth which is their future has started to play very solid. I realize their last two wins have been over TCU & KSU, but they really needed those two wins to rebuild their confidence. I went to Stillwater to watch the BU - OSU game. On the way I stopped and watched the TCU - UT game at 11:30. TCU knew this was one of their few chances for a win, and they played above their heads much of the time. But I was impressed with the way Texas took their best and pulled it out. They will be high as a kite when ISU comes to town. Nothing less than an A+ performance will garner a win here. ISU has a better overall team at this time, but they are catching UT a rather bad time IMO. I'm sure Bill is well aware of this. Hopefully they come prepared.

There are no Big 12 games that any team can take for granted. Texas gave us everything we could handle earlier in the Big 12 cycle. It was a game in which fouls played a huge roll. It was also a game in which we were never able to get in a groove. As with any game, if the Sisters play like they did in the second half against TTech it will be tough for Texas. If we get into a funk as is oft the case, then it will be tight or worse. I see the ladies playing with a sense of urgency.

An Iowa State win at Texas has never been a given, in any sport, ever. And that will be true forever, or at least until snowmobiling becomes a Big 12 sport.

LOL. We'd love to participate in the snowmobiling tourney with you all. It's rather hard though to get any practice down here in central Tx when it only snows 3" every three yrs or so. It is currently 70 degress and raining here.
