    I'm not so sure his style of commentating will mesh well with soccer. He COULD be better than the announcers we have now and have had in the past, but that isn't saying much. I just have a sneaking suspicion that he will end up trying to be an English speaking Spanish announcer (if that makes sense), but with more corny catch phrases. Just give me Adrian Healy and Macca and I will be content. Great knowledge of the game and changes tone when appropriate, but never over the top.

    I'm not sure if it will work either, but I do think it's an interesting experiment. It sounds like he's being really thoughtful about the transition. He realizes he's out of his element, but it does sound like he's genuinely interested in learning the game & willing to put in the work to do so.

    He better have a super British sounding color analyst with him then, otherwise their credibility as a broadcast team is very close to zero.

    He just sounds so enthusiastic about build up play in the midfield, it's like he's trying to imitate the soccer announcer from the Simpsons.
