    Sisters stay in rankings...

The Sisters are hanging in the rankings, falling one spot this week. The love for Iowa disappeared in a heart beat as they went from 70 votes to 1 after losing two. State went from 102-71.

Women's college basketball, at least Div. 1, seems loaded at the top with the heavyweights and then diluted big-time.
Then there's some questions. OU, for instance, looks awful these days, yet still ranked? And KU is not?

think Big 12 is sharing a lot of votes right now, and no "clear" winners. Seeing a lot of rising and falling and in and out of the rankings for Big 12 teams depending on what happens in a week.

Really like how the rest of our schedule looks right now.

Maybe the voters like Sherri Coale's big hair style and don't recognize the Paris sisters have graduated?

At least OU dropped down. Cannot imagine they stay unless they look better this week and they have already played the easiest part of their schedule. Twistedredbird probably has it nailed with his post that the voters might not be ready to figure out who is up and who is down in the Big 12; it's been pretty fluid.

And Greenbay, our "favorite" Wisconsin team, is there lurking just outside the top 25 with their 12 game winning streak.

    RE: Top heavy -

    1. Clearly there is Baylor and Connecticut, and everyone else.
    2. There is no undefeated team in WBB this year.
    3. After that, Notre Dame, Duke, Stanford, and Cal are all quite beatable.
    4. Its easy to be a top team with a fabulous record in the Big East, ACC, SEC, or Pac 12. The Big 10 and Big 12 are really the only truly balanced leagues, and honestly, they suffer for it, both in injuries, records, RPI, rankings, and development of younger players.

The fact that ISU went down in the ranking for losing on the road to KU in overtime, speaks volumes.

I watched Duke the other night against North Carolina. Wow....very impressive. I think the top 8 all are the cream. Then a second tier of potential on any given day. Bottom 7 of top 25 are the kind that could reach sweet 16 or elite 8.

The same Duke that lost by 30 points to UConn, and only has 2 wins against ranked opponents, and plays in a conference where half the teams have losing records.

I can't figure Iowa out. A couple of weeks ago, I thought they were deserving of ranking; appeared to be playing pretty good to me. Then they got beat last 2 times out????

The UConn loss was at UConn which is not uncommon. Being beaten badly by a title contender...a strong title contender on their home court happens to everyone. Saying that makes them "beatable" which I think means "by anyone" is probably a stretch. I fully expect to see Duke in the Elite 8 at worst. Teams have off days...look at our game against OSU. They've beaten the #10 and #11 ranked teams. We'll know more about Duke after they play Maryland (#7). When Duke is on they are freaking scary.

Now if your statement referred to being beatable by the top 3...then that applies to everyone.

Of course then there is the "beatable" Notre Dame that did beat UConn on its home court and lost on their own home court to Baylor. I think that Top 8 is pretty much the elite and yes, they can beat each other, but it will be a monumental upset for someone else to do it. Just my opinion of course which is worth an inflated 2 cents!
