    Oklahoma State

I missed the action today. How did we do and how did we look? Looking at scores suggests the guys did pretty well. Loosing 25-9 to a #2 team is nothing to be ashamed about while we are rebuilding. For sure, Gadsen over Rosholt is huge; way to go Kyven. Beard with a big 6-pt decision over #10 Chionuma and Weatherman losing by only 3-0 to #1 Perry are impressive. Seems like the guys are starting to show some stuff on the mat. Let's keep it going.....

    Re: Oklahoma State

I was at the meet today, and was pleasantly surprised. Not sure if that was my low expectations or not, but I thought we had some matches good, some bad, and some that could have gone our way with a couple of breaks (breaks being our guys taking someone down, calling a takedown 5 seconds earlier, etc.).

Wasn't able to watch, but it looks like many match scores were closer than I would have expected. Good job to the Cyclone wrestlers.

    Re: Oklahoma State

Was OSU using all their best wrestlers? If so, then we may be closer than I thought, particularly the upper weights. Definitely not there yet. Still a lot of work to do, especially in the lower weights.

Keep in mind this is not the Rosholt you are thinking of. Blake is the youngest brother and ranked around #18. I was actually a bit disappointed in how close it was, but a win against OKState is a good thing no matter what.

That said, I was happy about many of the other matches. That's the first time I've seen OKState this year, but they were very passive.

Yes this is the Rosholt people are thinking of. Yes there is an older brother that wrestled Zabriskie at Hwt. This Rosholt was 19-3 last year an ranked in the top 5 and got hurt before the Big 12's. He is ranked #6 by Intermat and this is a very big win for Kyven. And they wrestled Byers instead at Big 12 and Nationals

My bad. I saw AWN had him ranked #15 and assumed he was thinking of the older Rosholt brothers. My expectations of Kyven have gone from nothing (wasn't sure he'd ever be healthy) to through the roof.

    Re: Oklahoma State

Some ranking services have him ranked lower because of lack of matches and injuries. He just went to the wire with #2 Wilps. Wilps beat Kyven 4-3 earlier this year.

    Re: Oklahoma State

    Kyven is the man.

    Beard looked great. Impressive.

Weatherman...Perry had just gotten majored by Mizzou 2 nights before.

Everyone else? Meh. Except 125 which looked terrible and of course 133 where the kid shouldn't have even been put on the mat.

    Rankings came out today:

    Moreno 19
    Weatherman 20
    Beard 15
    Gadsen 7
    Team 32

    Embarassing.

Gibson came within a decent ref of beating #3 Gelogaev, and that only warrants a "meh"?

    Please.

    Oh yeah. Good catch.
