    The Book of Mormon (Musical)

My girlfriend got me tickets for Christmas. We're living in Chicago now but it was easier to get tickets for the Des Moines show. We went last night and I thought it was amazing. Obviously since it was written by the South Park guys, its going to be "offensive" to some, but on the whole, the entire Civic Center was into it.Anyone else see it while it has been in Des Moines? Also, please keep religion out of this, keep this thread outta the cave.

We saw it at the civic center, but also saw it in NYC during last year's bowl...let's just say NYC has ruined me.

We saw Memphis last year in New York for the Bowl game and then I saw Memphis last April at the Civic Center. It was interesting to see the difference in the real broadway vs. the traveling show. There is a pretty big difference.

I thought Book of Mormon was pretty good. Very funny and a good message. Probably not in my top 4 or 5 of shows I've seen in the last 5 years.

I got tickets as a birthday gift. I thought it was a great show. Funny, good music, and some heart.

Went last Saturday in Des Moines. Absolutely LOVED it. Though I think Trey Parker and Matt Stone can do no wrong.

It was the least boring musical I've been to

We went last week and it was pretty good. Very funny and not nearly as offensive and sacrilegious as I thought or was expecting.

The Mormon Church shouldn't be that ****** about it. It has gotten and will get more people talking and thinking about the Mormon Church than they've ever had.

Re: The Book of Mormon (Musical)

I went the Friday before last. I had a little trouble making out the lyrics in some of the big chorus parts that involved a lot of cast members, but other than that I had no complaints. I'm a little biased as a longtime South Park fan, but it exceeded my expectations.

Did anyone else notice that the Mormon church actually bought ad space in the playbill? I want to say they had three or four full page ads running in there. Props to them for taking advantage of the free publicity.

Went with the parents in Chicago - bad idea. Not sure my mother agreed with the first song when they landed in Africa.

I though the whole play was awesome
