    Hats off to Tyrus McGee

    Tyrus had four offensive boards and two defensive boards. He lead the team with the most offensive rebounds.
    He scored 10 points, all most all of them inside the paint.
    I know he didn't make any three's but he was crashing the offensive boards keeping us in the game.
    He got almost 27.5% of all of our second chance points.
    We could use more effort on the offensive boards, only Clyburn had more than one board, he got two.
    Tyrus had three more than all the other "bigs" on the team.
    So "GOOD JOB TYRUS", keep up the good work.

    Go Cyclones.

    We will always need energy guys like Tyrus, Jake Anderson comes to mind when watching Tyrus. Next year someone will step up my guess is Okoro.

    I was going to put up a thread today as well about Tyrus, but you beat me to it.

    I'm beginning to think he could almost go down as my favorite Cyclone of all time.... and he's a JUCO transfer and doesn't even start. But I just LOVE guys that bring that kind of energy to the floor. When he started throwing his arms in the air to get the crowd pumped up, and followed that up by licking his hands and wiping the bottoms of his shoes with them as he got down in his defensive position.... I wanted to put a uniform on myself and go out there and join him.

    The guy is just an amazing energy boost to the entire team and the fans. Every team needs a guy like this IMO. I'm finding it hard to come up with another Cyclone from the past with this kind of energy and excitement? Maybe Curtis Stinson, but he was more laid back IMO. Lafester Rhodes? Elmer Robinson?

    McGee was struggling with his shot yesterday, so what does he do.... he gets his points in the paint off of huge offensive rebounds and putbacks. His vertical jump must be unreal. He also had an incredible block, but the official called him for a foul on it. He just gives it his all, all the time. I love it!

    Without him yesterday, as in most games, we would have a hard time winning.

    He was the "X" factor last night I thought, didn't come up big really in any stats but was the answer it seemed whenever Baylor started to get going, he squashed it.

    Yeah, that block was awesome! I don't remember which Baylor player it was, but the guy had at least 6" on Tyrus.

    Tyrus had all ball too, just hit him with the body.

    One of his FG's was a j on the left side in transition from a Korie feed, not in the paint. But point taken, Tyrus is a manimal.

    Tyrus seems to be the X factor in every game. How he plays really impacts the game for us.

    I think two of his best shots were the two efforts at the end of the OSU game. How he could come close was amazing. The one where he was pushed out of bounds was good enough to put on youtube.

    Agree 100%. Last night was definitely a team win especially with the horrible 3 point shooting - but we don't win that game without Tyrus.
