    No Love for Johnny

The announcers always point out how good Fred's coaching is on the inbounds play and they always credit his NBA experience. But Johnny Orr was THE MASTER at the inbounds play. It's hard to imagine that that isn't where the importance of the inbounds play was instilled in Fred.

No, I didn't start any of those threads. I'm not making some general complaint about people forgetting about Johnny. I'm pointing out specifically that I'm sure Fred got his knack for good inbounds plays from his college coach, but that the announcers never mention Johnny when they point it out.

Announcers are often not very informed on that stuff. The easy thing to talk about is Hoiberg's NBA career so that's what they talk about.

    Re: No Love for Johnny

You guys obviously never saw Johnny's teams. If you had, you would know what I'm talking about. And I'm not that old. I saw Fred play when I was a student.

If Gotleib was doing the game, he would mention it.

    Re: No Love for Johnny

Johnny's last season was nearly 20 years ago... that's why you wont hear much about him. Some current players werent even alive when he last coached.

National CBB announcers are about the 2nd lowest form of life behind officials.
