A football scheduling alliance with the SEC, ACC, Pac 12 would be great for Iowa State especially if it has a clause allowing teams with long standing out of conference rivalry games (like ISU) to opt out of the game if they wanted. It forces teams like K-State to at least have one real game on their non-con schedule and moves ISU up the bowl pecking order when Big 12 teams lose those games. It may also attract Fox-ESPN to want to add additional games/revenue to our contract depending on how many good games (there would definitely be some good games if it was with the SEC) were added.
Interesting that Tramel only lists ISU as having a OOC Rivalry game in the Big 12 (and the 4 teams you have listed for the SEC). That makes 9 teams available for the Big 12 and 10 teams available for the SEC.
If the Big 12 would agree to an alliance with the SEC, I would love to see Synder try and worm out of having to play an annual game with the SEC. He has absolutely no grounds to stand on with his OOC history.
