    Black Friday @ BB

How early do I have to line up at Best Buy in Ames to make sure I get to buy what I want from the early bird special? How about Cedar Rapids or Des Moines locations? Anyone with experience from years prior?

Be very careful about ordering online with Best Buy. They have some odd policies regarding returns. I ordered a PC online since they did not have it in stockm in the store, but they shipped the wrong model. When I tried to get it replaced, I was told I had to return to the store for a refund and then order the correct model. They don't do straight exchanges. What stunk about the whole deal is that the price had gone up in the meantime and I had to order it at the higher price.

    Let the buyer beware!

How can you order the early bird specials online? That doesn't make any sense.

Don't get me wrong, I would never buy anything from Best Buy. The best thing about shopping online is you can get similar prices that they offer on their big sale days any day of the week and you don't have to leave the house.

The only thing I ever buy at Best Borrow is DVDs.

My dad and I lined up at about 3:00am last year, and we were all the way to the back of the building. The people at the front got there at around 6:00pm Thanksgiving evening.

They handed out tickets for the big name items at around 5:00am maybe? We got about half of what we wanted, Best Buy's layout of their merchandise was totally F'd. They had everything in random areas, not in the departments they should be in so it caused a ton of confusion.

This was in Ames, I probably wouldn't do it again, the amount of money you save just isn't worth it IMHO, but if you want to, the earlier the better.

Kohl's stores are opening at 4 freakin AM Friday! What the #$&^#?
When I worked at Penney's in college if they had told me to be in at 3am the day after Thanksgiving I believe my response would have gotten me off the hook, forever...

Really, why even close. Just put some cots in the store. I mean, what is Kohl's selling at four in the morning? Bunwarmers?

Thank you for the response. I greatly appreciate it. I know for sure I won't be there at 6 PM to wait for 10 hours for the store to open up.

    Re: Black Friday @ BB

I remember last year driving by staples in ankeny late at night on turkey day last year and seeing people lined up there for some cheap deals they were having. I laughed because the deals were only worth like $50. So some people out there were willing to give up their holiday and sit outside for $50.
