Interesting, Paul is good at identifying problems and it looks like he is willing to find the help needed to solve those problems. However, what is he going to be a coaching, OC, WR's, or not determined yet?

Move Bleil to TEs and put the new guy on OL. Boom, running game.

As the OL coach? I thought we were looking for a TE coach.

    Re: New FB Coach

Great news. Now get a QB specialist as OC that has good experience in that (or any) offense.

Per football scoop Iowa State: Sources tell us that former Arkansas offensive line coach Chris Klenakis will join the Iowa State staff as offensive line coach

Thus my question if that is the job he's replacing.

    Re: New FB Coach

Sam Richardson may not be the athlete Kaepernick is, but I think he could produce a lot in a Nevada style pistol. One of the best things about the pistol is that you can use spread running concepts and also run traditional power running plays as well.

And we can finally get some plays with players running up the middle with a full head of steam and not getting the ball standing still only to run parallel to the line of scrimmage

    Re: New FB Coach

This seems like a great hire for us. Love that he had success at Nevada before AK.

If you ask the basketball analysts outside the state of Iowa I think you would be surprised to hear their responses. Iowa was pegged as a preseason top 5 team by one ESPN analyst and is ranked in the vast, vast majority of preseason top 25 polls
