Tech is terrible. That one loss does not doom us, but if we drop at home against KSU, we are in real trouble.

Turnovers were terrible. Awful offensive rebounding effort. And Tech was switching on screens, giving us a number of mismatches down low that we did not even try to leverage. Very poor coaching effort, very poor.

I wouldn't go so far to say that ISU doesn't have a Plan B, but that Plan B was in foul trouble at the same time Plan A was failing. And, keeping with the metaphor, Plan C of Clyburn/McGee driving to the hoop was abysmal as well. Hoping it doesn't happen again. It can't happen at home or "the season" (i.e. going to the NCAA tourney) really is over.

The loss itself is not so concerning. It's the realizatio that it was the KU game that may have been the fluke- and not the TT game.

We played the 4 worst teams in the conference, now get the big boys...and we havent won a conference tourney game since the what? Stinson days?

Im not bashing the team or down on anyone...im just being realistic at this point in the season.

Where do you see 8 wins on this schedule?
We can win them all or we can lose them all. I'll take five home games and three road games.

I was concerned about this game because it was a mid week game in Texas after just being in Texas over the weekend. We did not come out and play with the fire and emotion that is necessary for our team to win, even against a bottom of the conference team like Tech. I think we bounce back and beat KSU Saturday...but I don't like our chances in Stillwater.

Our teams of the last 10 years aren't much to compare to and this is a bad Big 12. We won 4 last year right?

You can't be serious, past performance doesn't equal future performance. What past teams have done in the past has no bearing on how they do this year. You're comparing what teams did 10 years ago to this year when there's no one from those teams on this one. Stop it with those comparisons. I hate comparisons like this, they're just stupid.

Im comparing what our programs history has done all the way up until last year.....i didnt say it would predict future performace....but this idea that we suddenly will pick up in 13 games on the road what we have done in a decade might be the stupidest thing ive ever heard.

By all means though....if you have some data that says how good we are on the road as a program recently....im all ears. Otherwise...thems the numbers.

Nobody should be melting down about this loss...well, anybody who realizes this team lives by the 3 ball and knows that it can carry you only so far. With zero inside game, we are NIT bound. Even more so when Luscious hands the ball to the opponent every 3rd time he touches it. Talk about overrated. And he thinks he's Michael Jordan! Now we now why Izzo booted him!

Re: Williams: Tech loss was bad but not a season ender

After the less-than-inspiring performance at TCU, and then last night's debacle, and considering those are probably at best 2 of the 3 worst teams in the conference, I just don't see where ISU will pick up another win on the road in the remaining six games they have on the road.

It is almost required that ISU win the remaining home games....yet, even as unlikely as that is....that would only give them a total of 20 wins before the conference tourney.

This team has not played consistently at all. Sometimes they look like a threat for the conference title. Other times (and too often) they look like the team that lost to Tech last night.

-Be kind. That is something you will never regret. You will never say to yourself when you are old "I wish I was not good to that person".

4-5 which we would duplicate this year if we win three more.

Re: Williams: Tech loss was bad but not a season ender

We need quality wins, and even though a W is nice, so unless we beat KU, KSU, OU, OSU, at home and pick up a couple of those on the road + pretty much sweeping everyone else, we are easily a snub for the dance at this point.

If you take away first base, they'll just go find a new ballpark to play in.

Re: Williams: Tech loss was bad but not a season ender

I certainly don't consider the loss last night as a season ending loss by any stretch. In fact, going into the game, I thought it could be close. What probably made it seem worse was that TT is actually worse than I thought they were. It took a sensationally horrible game out of our Cyclones to lose that one.

Anyhoo, the sun came up today, and I'm getting excited for K State on Saturday.
