    Windshield question

Wife was on interstate yesterday and a semi kicked up a rock and broke some glass in corner of windshield. Not just a ding, can see and feel a hole that hasn't quite gone all the way through glass. The guy is coming out to replace it tomorrow because overnight it spidered out quite a bit. I don't know anything about this stuff, is this safe to be driving right now?

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

    Re: Windshield question

It's not unsafe unless the cracks catch the sun and are a distraction. The glass isn't going to fall in (or out). Most likely only the outer pane is broken, the laminate between the two sheets of glass is pretty strong.

I say you should be fine as long as it does not obstruct your view

    Re: Windshield question

I've had a crack in my windshield for 4 years, it's only caused minor accidents so far.

This is true. But In a roll over accident, the Windshield is a very important support piece on your car. So Cliff notes, if your not in a roll over accident you will be fine.
