Oklahoma women's basketball: OU hopes to halt Hilton Coliseum skid

No player on Oklahoma's roster has won at Iowa State. Sherri Coale is 1-8 at ISU since becoming OU coach in 1996.

“Without a doubt,” Coale responded when asked if Iowa State holds one of the Big 12's better home court advantages.
“Their fans are just passionate, they're loud. Their kids have a great comfort level there. There's a lot of tradition there, I think is what makes it so tough.”

“They get a pretty tough crowd out, like we do down here,” said junior guard Aaryn Ellenberg. “And they're really good at home most of the time. Once they get the momentum going, it's tough to beat them there.”

Re: Oklahoma women's basketball: OU hopes to halt Hilton Coliseum skid

OU has won twice in Hilton since Shari took over their program - both times when the Paris twins were playing for the Sooners, I believe. We didn't beat Oklahoma once (0-6) while they were on the roster from the 05-06 season through 08-09, including playing for a Big 12 tournament championship in OKC.

Still, it's more than a little impressive that will all the talent OU has had over the years, they usually struggle when they play in Hilton. Here's hoping that they struggle for another 40 minutes tonight.

"Oklahoma dropped to 1-9 against Iowa State in Ames since the formation of the Big 12 Conference."

That was the report from their site. The BigXII goes back to what? 1996, some years alternating.

Their information is wrong. Look it up on OUR page. I can also verify that ISU's information is correct because I was there for half of those losses, including the two at Hilton.

Oklahoma protests and doesn't recognize the 2008 victory. For obvious reasons Bill doesn't argue with them about it.
