Congrats to CFH on his 50th win!

Not bad for only 2 1/2 seasons!

    Many more to come.

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

Probably only Floyd. Since he inherited Hoiberg, Michalik, Meyer, etc. and then went out and got Cato, Willoughby, Pratt and the rest.

Here is what I figured out:

Maury John.....for career....50th in 4th year at Drake......at ISU, never reached 50th win in his 2 plus years at ISU

Johnny Orr......for career....50th in 4th year, First year at Michigan after 3 years at UMASS....... at ISU 50th in 2nd game of 5th year

Tim Floyd....for career....50th in 3rd year, First year at New Orleans after 2 years at Idaho.....at ISU 50th in 3rd game of 3rd year

Larry Eustachy......for career...50th in 3rd (and last) year at Idaho....at ISU 50th in 3rd game of 3rd year (Thank you Fizer, Tinsley, et al)

Wayne Morgan....for career....50th in 4th year at Long Beach State....at ISU 50th in 14th game of 3rd year

Greg McDermott....for career.....50th in 4th year at Wayne State....at ISU 50th in 4th game of his 4th year

Fred Hoiberg...for career, and at ISU......50th in 15th game of 3rd year

So, technically, he compares best to Floyd and LE for career 50th, and trails only Floyd, LE and incredibly by one game.....Wayne Morgan as far as his 50th at ISU.

How is that incredible? Wayne Morgan never had a losing season and was in the NIT Semifinals and NCAA Tournament.

Incredible in that only one game separated them. Don't get your panties in a bunch.

Because Morgan was the 4th best out of the previous 5 coaches.

Fred inherited a mess. Think how quickly ISU has achieved success again. Fred will build a dynasty before its all said and done.

Fred sure doesn't look like a guy that had not coached anywhere before ISU. I think he does such a great job. Most games he gives us an obvious advantage on the sideline. He is great at coming up with effective game plans, his plays out of time outs and out of bounds plays draw praise from almost every analyst, and his ability to mold his players during the season is unbelievable. We are truly lucky Fred came home to ISU.

He was quick to 50, but Fred will probably pass him in total wins in a month or so.
