His grandfather wasn't quite as gracious. Below are his comments that appear below the DM Register article. I'm sure it was difficult for him to watch Jared get passed over this year, but I think he's being a little unfair.

Now that you ask, I'm not sure exactly who FootballinTexas is, but I was impressed overall with the perspective that was maintained. I consistently got the sense that there was a good balance of support for JB and support for the team, such as in calls to name a QB whomever it was so that he could take more snaps with the #1 offense. Hard to maintain that as a family member or family friend. It impressed me.

JB did some good things here, but the K State game this year left a sour taste in my mouth. The last possessions where he threw the ball basically into the ground rather than taking a chance downfield to get a first down.

Ouch and ouch. Not really surprised about Barnett but it still hurts to lose him.

Wow are we thin at LB.

I agree, that was awful to watch and I have no idea what he was doing there.

This is just further indication of which direction Rhoades is going in in terms of QB. That being said, I loved having JB here. He always had a great attitude and motivated every player on the sidelines and on the field. I wish him all the best and success moving forward. He'll be missed.

Exactly I really hope SR or GR takes the position and runs with it. I've got a nagging feeling though that at some point whoever wins the battle will go down with an injury and we are going to be wishing JB was there to come off the bench.

He wasn't ever going to be great I don't think, but he was pretty steady. I'd take him at #2.

Any chance we try to pick up a juco with a little more experience just in case. Whether we do or not probably says a lot of the coaches opinion about Rohach.

Also as CW predicted we are all talking about JB when Morgan might be a bigger loss given our LB situation.

Re: Logue on Twitter states Barnett and Morgan are leaving.

SHOCKER about Barnett, not. I had the feeling since the beginning of the season, wish him the best of luck. But he certainly wasn't the man for the job, and I won't miss his lawn darts.

And sucks to hear about Morgan. Wish him the best, and improvement in his family health issues. I heard the staff didn't think he was going to be a starter anyways, but would have been nice for depth, similar to JB. But having Morgan is a biggest need then JB.

Getting worried about linebacker. We lost AJK, Knott, Morton (who started the bowl game), Morgan.

Miller looks pretty slow and average at best so far, George appears to miss about 1/2 his tackles.

    Could really use a JUCO.

Yeah, I think we will miss Morgan a lot more than Barnett. Morgan at least gave us a little bit of LB depth.

I can't say anything bad about JB though. Really good kid and seemed to be a tremendous teammate as well. Very involved in the game at all times and really supported all the guys.

But I don't agree with JB's "relative" posting all the negative crap about ISU and the coaches. JB did NOT get the shaft while here at all. He was given NUMEROUS opportunities to prove himself, both in practice and in games. He had a few good games, but that was it. For the most part, he could not throw the ball well enough at this level. I wish him nothing but the best wherever he goes though. He stuck it out this year and supported all of the guys and never complained.

Still dont really think we're going to miss a FCS caliber qb all that much. Pretty much more worried about a Linebacker with experience leaving.

So happy that JB played like he did in the TCU game as it made for one of the more fun road trips I've taken. As for Morgan, I really hate to hear about a family health situation being serious enough for relocation. Praying for his family, this is just a game and we will get by. Take care fellas, you were good Cyclones!

Re: Logue on Twitter states Barnett and Morgan are leaving.

In late here, but I personally am really sad to see Jared go. I know that he wasn't the guy going into next season and I frankly never expected him to compete next season. What I did expect from Jared, however, was a guy that would continue to conduct himself with class on the sideline. I felt like Jared had a leadership ability so great that he would still be an asset to the team off the field, almost a Brett Bueker type. I, like many others wish Jared best of luck and hope to see him back on the Cyclone sideline someday, this time coaching.
