Is that correlation with or without causation?

It seemed to have more to do with him managing the game, not turning it over, and running efficiently. Trouble is, that only worked every once in awhile when ISU's skill players had really good games to support the offense. For every big win there were 2 losses where we looked below average under JB. If that wasn't the case, he would be starting next year.

Otherwise, best of luck to two great Cyclones.
I disagree about the system screwing the QB's. System may not be perfect, but a QB still has to make the throws and 50% or less doesn't cut it. I will agree about wishing he was still here next year. Having experienced backups in the Big 12 especially in a system where the QB runs is valuable. If I had my druthers ISU would have 3 QB's who could legitimately play every year.

What he does in football remains to be seen, but there is no doubt he has an extremely bright future after football. Best of luck to him.

JB also wins the award for "best presence on this site by a parent." I continue to be amazed at the rationality and sense of team spirit that FootballinTexas brought to this forum, whether things were going JB's way or not.

If they didn't enroll for 2nd semester, then it should.

I guess all that really matters is that the QB play going into next year has to be better than it has been. By a lot.

That's right, Velo. The "system" screws our QB in the same ways that it screws those from Oregon. If you want to talk about talent, execution and coaching/teaching, then I think you are going to be on firmer ground than pointing the finger at the "system." Our basic concepts and design fundamentals are essentially those of Oregon, so I don't think there is a lot of room there to point fingers, but I'm open to the discussion. Would like to have him for leadership and team reasons and as an insurance policy, but I understand the desire to start after having the experiences he has had here. He's led us to some very big wins but plenty of losing as well. Best of luck to him.

    Cheers

The same can be said about every qb that has played for ISU in the last two yrs. For as good as SJ looked at times he was also the reason we were out of some games.

And Jantz wouldn't start for us next year. Just like Barnett.
