Time to end the DET/DAL monopoly of Turkey Day FB?

Troy Aikman made an interesting point yesterday during the Redskins/Cowbows game about the significant homefield advantage that DET/DAL get by playing at home on Thanksgiving day every year, especially when they both get home games prior to the T-Day game, as happened yesterday. So, is it time to end the home game for DET/DAL on Thanksgiving day?

its called tradition. if the Lions won every year on Turkey Day, then they may be a complaint, but they suck and typically loose.

Actually, I think it would make more sense to have Dallas or Detroit host and then have an AFC game.

Nope - leave it the way it is.

I'm actually not happy that the NFL decided it just HAD to have a third game on it's NFL Network. They couldn't just leave well enough alone...

I like the tradition. Keep it.

Plus: This year the lions have something to play for.

I think the fact that they get 2 home games in a row is some what offset by the fact that they have to play on 3 days rest. I say leave it how it is, it's tradition.

Tradition. A big thing about football is/should be tradition.

Leave it alone. I can see how being the home team in that game after the previous week home game can be an advantage, but too bad sometimes schedules are not fair.

I liked it when they added the KC game the other year. That is a great FB town too deserving of a Thanksgiving Day game.

I say leave it as it is. Detroit playing football makes it easier to sleep after turkey.

First Lions fan I've seen on the board! I am a Packer fan living in MI and will be at the big game this Thursday... so pumped.

Leave the tradition the way it is. One thing that needs to happen every year is to schedule these games as divisional games. When you play a team twice every year, it makes it easier for each team to prepare on a short week.

Re: Time to end the DET/DAL monopoly of Turkey Day FB?

I hate watching the Lions and Cowboys every single year but I think it's better than having a team I actually care about play on Thanksgiving. You can kind of space off into the blue and silver abyss and not really pay attention to the games. That being said, I think they should switch it up, all this "it's tradition" talk makes me sick.
