The Field of the Year award honors baseball, football, softball and sports fields in three categories: professional, college and university, and school and parks.
Jack Trice Stadium at Iowa State University in Ames was honored as college and university football field of the year.
Pretty big honor.

And a meaningful honor! Thank you for posting that.
It was fun having Cy win an award a couple years back, but that was more tongue in cheek. This has more real meaning.
Iowa has the best soil and growing conditions in the world, and I think the decision years back to go away from artificial turf was the right decision. Hopefully, too, nowadays its possible to replace it every ten years or so as is the norm. The last replacement, as I recall, was after 15 years or so, in order to preserve the budget. I figure the groundskeepers must've used that experience to learn how to do more with less. And now, perhaps due to the Big 12 revenue, they are able to really show what they can acheive. ( I just wish they'd have taken a vacation the week before the West Virginia game, andlet that grass grow a little deeper. Maybe that would have slowed those Mountaineers down a little bit more!)
