    Online Music stores

What do everyone use? I just got a great deal on the Zune ($89 vs the list of $200) and wondered what everyone used for online stores to get their music.

Mp3Sparks.com is the new version of ALLOFMP3. Digital music. - they're russian, DRM free, and really cheap.

I also just pony up for iTunes usually. You can get the DRM-free copies of a lot of songs by using "iTunes Plus".

And if you don't want to "pony up" for the extra $$$ for DRM - free, I've always found I can burn the songs onto a playable CD and then re-rip the CD into MP3s with whatever tags you want to go along with it.

    Re: Online Music stores

Buy.com has the Zune 30 GB player for $90 with free shipping. It is the brown one but I didn't care. It has a large 3 inch screen and a built in FM radio. So far I am pretty happy with it. They did just release a new version but i was able to get the software downloading to mine. I thought it was a great deal vs the $250 I was going to spend for the ipod.

I am more and more falling in love with the Zune. It looks to be a solid machine.

A friend of mine got one last week and loves it. He uses it with his XBox somehow?

I'm on my fourth iPod (got the Touch when it first came out), and love it so much. It's just hard to get music back off of it without hacking in.

    Re: Online Music stores

I'm buying an 8 GB IPod nano later today with birthday money (time to replace my 30 GB Dell Jukebox which I can only use anymore if it's plugged into an outlet ) My sister bought one last week and I got to play with it while I was filling it up for her. That thing is pretty sweet.

The Zune is coming along. Plus the Zune 1 is going to get the firmware update that goes into the Zune 2, which adds some cool features.

The Nanos are awesome because they're so portable! You just throw it in your purse (well, maybe the majority of the board wouldn't do that) and go. I recommend getting the clear hard case - protects it from dings better. Just make sure to cover the screens - they scratch pretty easily.

I like the Ipods because there are so many addons made for them. Cars, speakers, etc. That makes it a hard option not to take. I just hate the apple format and Itunes.

Yeah, the .m4p file format is pretty unusable. It's really frustrating.

    Re: Online Music stores

I think the ITouch is pretty awesome (I got to play with one while at Best Buy and quickly logged onto CF ). Lots of fun toys, most of which come on the Motorola Q that my wife told me I'm allowed to get when it comes time for me to get my new phone next year. Some of those fun toys also come on the Nano, which is why the Nano is cool by me, for now...

I love the iTouch. It's such a cool idea - the cover flow (where you can scroll through your album art) is really neat.

I feel you - I really wanted the iPhone, but the husband refuses to switch to Cingular/AT&T. I couldn't justify it. I got a KRZR, and I think the husband will do the Q. It looks REALLY cool!

Yeah - the Nano has cover flow as well. That's a really great idea - until I have to go thru all 12+GB of my music to make sure it has album art associated with it (I'm only starting out with what I'll actually add to the Ipod).

That and I wouldn't switch to AT&T just to get the Iphone - I've heard how much the Cingular/AT&T network sucks, and I've had very few complaints with Verizon
