Question for those who watched the KU game

I was only able to track it online thought ISU might get it. Bummer to miss a chance at a big W, of course.

I skimmed a few postgame threads, obviously a lot of variation how fans interpret this loss.

My question: If Iowa State could basically duplicate its performance from this game (including positives and negatives), how many Big 12 wins would you expect to see?

I continue to be more and more impressed with our rebounding. For having 6'7 guys as our tallest ones starting it is amazing. We will compete in every game if we play like we do tonight. That freshman was on fire and we will not run into another one of those the rest of the season.

    17. Plus three in Kansas City and at least three in the Big Dance.

We were one second away - literally - from beating the best team in the conference, by far, on their floor, where they had won 99 of their last 100 games.

The big question now is, can we play at a level even close to how we played tonight consistently.

Re: Question for those who watched the KU game

If we could duplicate that exact performance we would probably win out. They might be a few losses due to other teams going off so I would say any where from 15-17 Big 12 wins if we played like that the rest of the year.

We're pretty tough to beat when we hit 14 3-pointers, Melvin has a double-double, and Niang is on.

    14. All of them at home. Most of them on the road.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

A lot. Maybe enough to contend for Big 12 champs. It took a great game from KU just to escape.

If we could duplicate this game we would win every game remaining, and also the Big 12 touranement.

what they said. potentially win them all. Not likely to do that, but even last night there were a few things that if were cleaned up the team is 1-0 vs. 0-1.

We probably cannot execute with that energy level every night in the Big 12, but if they did they could probably win 13-14 games this year in conference.

Re: Question for those who watched the KU game

Can anyone else remember ever being so encouraged by a loss? I think one thing that sticks out to me is that KU played a really good game too - its not like we caught them in an "off night" and we almost got lucky.

But for a missed free throw on a 1&1 by KL, we'd be 1-0 in conf, having beaten a team on their court for only the 2nd time in their last 101 games.

I'm encouraged in large part because I wasn't sure if this team had a pulse. They do. Saturday is a huge and interesting game.

How well we played last night leads me to think we were just ******* around with Yale.

Hilton Magic is going to be even tougher to bear this year!

Re: Question for those who watched the KU game

The one thing to think about is the conference isn't that good this year. We are going to have to win more games than normal to get in. Especially since our 4 losses were our only chances at quality wins so far..I would be disappointed if we are not in the Top 4 of the league at the end of the year with it being down.

Re: Question for those who watched the KU game

A post from a KU fan was pretty funny on ESPN. He said "I got a bad feeling when we go to the Hilton...ISU wont forget this game"
That is the truth. I hope we crush them in the Hilton.
