    Re: Blum: Cyclone Pain

We will learn all we need to know about this team Saturday in Ames. If we come out and throttle Texas, the season will look great. If we lay an egg, it could go downhill in a hurry. I hope Fred can get that message through.

    Re: Blum: Cyclone Pain

Exactly my thoughts. If they can carry this momentum into Saturday's game, it could be another fun season. I hope they don't get down on this loss. It wasn't like we forced OT and then KU took over... KU had to have some magic on their end to even get last night's victory. We had them on the ropes and let it slip away.

If I were a player, I'd be hungry for more.

    Re: Blum: Cyclone Pain

For what its worth, Self on his post game show said he can't believe this team had lost three games before last night. Assistant coach Norm Roberts on the radio this morning said that was one of the best games he had ever been involved in, and that the strategy of starting Niang at the 5 really confused their defense at the start of the game.

I was at Allen Fieldhouse last night. Its hard for 16,000 people to be quiet, but I was surprised at how relatively passive the crowd was. Its definitely loud, but not as crazy as you would expect. Up until the last 8 seconds(which I'm trying to erase from my memory), the only time I remember the crowd making it hard to hear was after the ridiculous steal by Withey at the top of the key which led to a dunk.

Good to hear from someone that made it to the game.

Agreed. Since we have Fred Hoiberg, it stinks to be Texas on Saturday.
We're dangerous. We're putting it together again

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

If Niang can keep shooting like he did last night that starting 5 is going to cause a lot of headaches for opposing coaches.

    Re: Blum: Cyclone Pain

The team is more of a passing team when Niang is in action.

    Life is good.

Looked like rebounding did not suffer.

I only want to see one of the three you mentioned in the starting lineup. ever. Not impressed with the other 2.

It took what may be the best game the freshman will ever have to beat us . . . but it happened.

    Re: Blum: Cyclone Pain

The clones certainly kept AFH pretty quiet....I was really surprised at just how solid and well coached the Clones came out and played. They executed nearly perfectly, but the talent gap was just too broad.

If Hoiberg continues to get some major talent to come to Aimes, the future looks pretty good for you guys
