    PBS's "The Abolitionists"

Anyone else planning to watch this?

I didn't know about it until my major professor e-mailed me. I suspect that I'm expected to watch it.

I'll probably check it out, but the way things work, it will probably be on Netflix before I do.

Yes. Unless their policy has changed, it will likely be available free for viewing after the broadcast at PBS Video, under American Experience.

I suspect that I'll be "that guy" as I watch it, but that happens.

They are going to screw up this Cincinnati portion pretty badly, I bet. Everyone does.

    My bad.

Instead of messing it up, they just skipped it.

Not. They're just telling a story.
It's a very "top-heavy" story in that they're only dealing with a few of the better-known people, basically tracing the story of 5 abolitionists through the years.

For what they're aiming at, it's not bad. For a complete sort of history, it's not going to be close.

Just classic, "top-down" history that really doesn't get anywhere near the story;gets some of the key parts, misses a billion more.

    Pretty much.

Being a history major myself, I didn't learn much I didn't already know, but will probably watch future parts.
