    Esurance insurance?

Have any of you made the switch and have any stories? I am assuming there aren't many of you since they just came to Iowa in November. Allstate jacked my rates like crazy in my first year with them, so I started shopping around. I got better coverage from and am getting over $750/year savings. Home went up $6/year, but $17,000 more in dwelling coverage. I'm just curious if this is too good to be true, or just that we are lucky to get a new insurance carrier in Iowa. Part of me feels that this is one of those, "you get what you pay for" moments. I thought Progressive would be that way, but when I had my first claim in 20 years, they were outstanding to work with.

Funny that my agent lives in Sioux Falls, SD and can't get their coverage yet as they don't cover SD. Just curious.

    Re: Esurance insurance?

I didnt think that Esurance was offered through Agencys. Only online.. If you agent in South Dakota is a Captive Allstate Agent it makes sense that he cant sell it in Iowa.

    Interesting, since Allstate owns Esurance.

    Re: Esurance insurance?

In the past 15 years I had the same broker and every couple of years would compare rates. This year I checked out Esurance and they were a TON cheaper on car insurance even with the same coverage They were actually more expensive on home owners so I left my homeowners with the same company.

I tried calling my broker to see what they could do for me but they couldn't come close. He did try to say things like "If you have an accident you current insurer isn't going to to penalize you". The only problem with that statement is that I've been 15 years with the same insurer and have never had one claim.

I've always done a 1,000 deductible as well. That paid for itself after about 2 years and everything since has been gravy.

Thanks for the heads up, guys. I'll be looking to get coverage for my fiance's car after we're married in a couple months.

The email I got was from the guy I talked to on the phone. He is a sales agent. This will be remote agent, utilizing the online presence. I'm perfectly ok with that. Until this last year, I hadn't had a personal agent since I was in high school. It's overrated if you ask me. Back then it was a necessity. Progressive had the smoothest process I've ever been apart of. Luckily in my 26 years of driving, I haven't had many.

My wife and I laughed when we got the quote, right under Esurance, "An Allstate Company"...

Same coverage here for $40,000 worth of vehicles and $2,000 medical, with $500 deductible, $234/6 months. I was paying $623/6 months and it went up to $673/6 months.

I can see Esurance being legit but those commercials from The General..those seem a little sketchy

With great low rates you can get online, you think the General is out to get you? I mean, he hangs out with a penguin. That's how you know he's legit.

    Re: Esurance insurance?

Anybody else out there with any experience using Esurance.com. I just did a quote with them and they seemed way cheaper than my current rates. I have had State Farm for Auto and Home insurance for the last 10 years and I have been satisfied with them, but I am just checking around to see what's out there.
