    Budweiser Black Crown

New Budweiser Brand, 'Black Crown,' To Launch With Super Bowl Ad - Business Insider

originally when I saw this I thought Oh cool! Budweiser is trying a "craft trype beer" but the more I read into it, I dont think it has anything to Crown Royal and is going to be just another ****** beer like their Platinum beer.

Had it at Christmas, not bad at all but I'm no craft beer guy. Leaps and bounds ahead of Platinum in taste.

    Re: Budweiser Black Crown

Along the lines of mainstream brewers trying to get into the craft beer market. I read an article in the Ft Collins, Co paper last month that surprised me. I did not realize that Buswiser owns Shock Top and Miller-Coors owns Blue Moon.

I guess they figures it's easier to buy that market share than try to take it away.

Really interesting read. I stumbled upon a $10 for two years worth of Businessweek deal a while back so have been getting them. It's like $.10 an issue, lol.

Nice I paid $20 for this year on some promo. Actually really enjoy the magazine and for a price like that why not

Coors has owned blue moon for at least a decade. When I lived in Denver I spent a lot of time inside the Coors brewery for the company I did an internship for and was placed in Denver after graduation specifically to work with Coors on a project/temporary position. Was shocked when I saw Blue Moon made there. Kind of killed it for me on that beer.

I just learned about Shock Top being owned by AB this summer. Also killed that beer for me.

If I could just find a way to get Yuengling here in Iowa I would be a happy man.

This post defines beer snobs. "It's not good because it's mainstream."

This. I tried it once. Tasted like skunked skunk. Is the fascination because you can't get it in the midwest?

Yup, because Yuengling is not a mass produced beer.

If your hang up is with SAB or AB Inbev, I guess I understand a little more, but Yuengling is about as far from a craft brewer as you can get, without being owned by the two Global Giants. It is the largest American Owned brewery and their deal with Disney, imo, puts them right on par with Miller and Bud.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning anyone here for trying to make a buck. Hell, I brew my own beer and still keep Miller lite on hand.
