I seriously doubt there are that significant production costs between a $40 bottle and a $150 (there are some, admittedly)

With regard to beer snobs, sure there are, and I've made fun of them in other threads repeatedly. Additionally, there are arseholes everywhere, but the population distribution varies.

actually, there are larger production costs for a well aged whiskey, not only do you pay for longer storage, but when aging whiskey, the alcohol slowly evaporates out, so older barrels wont produce as many bottles to be sold.

I made a boiled down statement, then expanded my position further. If you want to just pull out that section only, sure, go ahead.

With regard to production costs, that's why I said (admittedly there are some)...but you probably didn't read that section either.

It's booze, it's not worth arguing further than this for me, enjoy your evening.

    Re: how to describe whiskey

How can we position this passion for whiskey/rye/scotch/bourbon for the advancement of ISU?

Looks like we could snag some ad $ at tailgates, for instance.

    Re: how to describe whiskey

$170 for JW Blue is a great price. It's usually >$225 elsewhere. It is so much better than JW Black, which to me is similar to Dewars. I jut had a double of Dalwhinnie 15 at Ranallo's in Ankeny for $7 - a great deal. I think I'll have som of my Glenlivet 21. This tread has made me thirsty.
