    AFCA National Convention

The American Football Coaches Association's annual convention kicks off this Sunday and runs through Wednesday. Isn't this the one that is notorious for generating rumors when head coaches are shopping for new coordinators and assistants? Just curious...

    Re: AFCA National Convention

This is where connections are made. Its a lot more young (think: just out of college) coaches make the connections than it is D1 coaches networking. D1 coaches pretty much all have their short list of who will get hired when positions come open.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

I understand the networking angle for young coaches, but I was thinking that this convention was also known as a good place for the seasoned coaches to conveniently "bump into each other," essentially using it as a forum for conducting informal interviews under the radar.
