    Re: New Year Resolutions

I love to go to the gym the first couple of weeks to see all the people who make these resolutions to loose weight. First couple weeks is packed, then come February they all start dropping like flys. Lol

If you take away first base, they'll just go find a new ballpark to play in.

Mine is 20 minutes/day on a treadmill. Starting at a low speed and building from there, as usually it all goes out the window if I overdo it to start.

    Re: New Year Resolutions

Last year was to pray every night and be thankful for what I have. Also to lose 20 pounds.

On a serious note - I gave up alcohol for Lent last year and lost 15 pounds just by not drinking and thus eating the crap at 1 AM I normally would. I went from 190ish to 170ish and have held steady there for about 9 months. This Lent I'm giving up alcohol again and see if I can get down to about 160. Since I lost just 20 pounds my liver function got better and I have been less anxious in general. Congrats to everyone who has this goal - it is a good one.

This year is to be less judgmental, even if I just think it. Also to start my real estate business. I've been looking at rentals for 5 years but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I need to do that.

I interpret him to make a resolution, then immediately after making said resolution, he can't make any resolutions.

Either my treadmill is lying to me, or I'm going to have to walk 120 miles a day to keep up with my calorie intake.

Teach that lying sumbich a lesson and drag it to the curb with a "Free" sign on it, then go eat a cheesburger just to show it who's boss.

    Re: New Year Resolutions

speaking of workout resolutions, there was a (pretty fit) guy in my workout class tonight, clearly there to try something new for his resolution. I love when guys show up.

Their first thought is "****, this is a women's class? But 'Total Body Conditioning' sounds so manly, like Chuck Norris is hawking it on HSN!"
Their second thought is, all right, let's show these ladies how it's done.
Their third thought, 8 minutes in, is DEAR GOD MAKE HER STOP! MAKE HER STOP! I'M ONLY A MAN, I CAN ONLY DO SO MANY SQUAT JUMPS!

One time, I was nice and was the partner for the Brian Urlacher lookalike guy that wandered in for some reason. He was talking about the class at the end and I asked if it were his first time at the gym.

He was one of the trainers.
