Ah, thanks for that reminder. That is the year I was thinking of. Looks like the Bulls lost 3 of their last 4 and could have gotten to 70 two years in a row if not for that slide. Amazing 2 year run.

People can argue best team ever, but to me there's no doubt the Bulls team of Jordan, Harper (like a second defensive Jordan), Pippen, Rodman, 18 7 foot fouls at center was the best defensive team and lineup ever.

Yeah unless you have a leader like Jordan who demanded that everyone play every game like its their last i just don't know if there will be a team that can match it. I think 69 wins may get reached but not 72.

The most talented team since those Bulls got blown out by the Milwaukee Bucks tonight. Probably distracted by Twitter and what not.

Rodman was my 2nd favorite bull on that team, growing up in Chicago in the 90s was pretty great. That record is pretty safe I'd say.

I wish I was older than 8 when that season happened, don't remember much of it. I don't see that record ever being broken. A team would probably have to go on multiple 15+ game winning streaks to even have a chance.

Picture that as a baseball record around the All-Star Break. That might add some context to the continual excellence this record took.

I remember someone saying Miami would have a shot at it this year..haha. No, not any time in the near future. No one will get close any time soon.

As far as worst record, I see that going down to the bobcats one of these years..they'll get there. I don't want to jinx them, but they're one game against the bulls from losing the entire month of December..not easy to do.

not this year anyway.. maybe some year, but not this one. You will need a team that is fantastic, with a great motor, that plays like every game is its last.

If I recall correctly, the Bulls actually lost 2 games in a row that year during their west coast road swing, one of which was to a horrible Nuggets team.

1995-96 Chicago Bulls Roster and Stats | Basketball-Reference.com

It's also pretty amazing how healthy they stayed during that season. According to this Jordan, Kukoc, Kerr and Harper all played in 80 games or more, with Pippen at 77. Rodman played 64 which is still a large part of the season. I also found the salaries interesting. I wouldn't have thought Harper made more than Pippen.
