I can say from the experience of being suckered into a bad bet at my elementary school, Hawk clothing burns the skin. If you have to do it, your best protection is Cyclone gear underneath so at least the correct colors are touching you.

Re: Need guidance from fellow Clone fans

I feel your pain, I married a Husker in the same situation as you. I went to ISU, she did not go to UNL.

The fact that you went to ISU is a huge bonus. This should allow you to go to more ISU events, dontate to the ISU club vs the IU club, possible get season ISU FB tickets.

I recommend you wear the Hawk clothes, I hate the Hawks too, but who really cares if you are wearing Hawk clothes to an IOWA game or even around the house for that matter. I found that my hatred for IU is much less when we have beaten them the last 2 years. The main idea is that you are both supporting ISU, that is helping to build the ISU program.

This. As long as you don't purchase Iowa gear you are fine. I know a tavern hok with a hawkeye tattoo and he claims because of this he is a bigger fan. The thing is, like Melvin said, buying tickets and donating to the cyclone club is far more impactful that getting a tattoo.

I think the key thats been missed, is that the scenario was if they were going to an Iowa bowl game. Remind me again, where is their bowl game this year?

This. I would agree to wear Hok gear when going to a Iowa bowl game knowing that it will be years before Iowa makes it back to a bowl game.
