    The Expected Black Monday Axe

Pat Shurmur, Mike Munchak, Ron Rivera done on 'Black Monday' - NFL.com

    5) Scott Pioli and Romeo Crennel won't be back in Kansas City

Pioli's defensive flops in the draft are well documented. His handpicked quarterback (Matt Cassel) never lived up to the hype and became entrenched. He whiffed on two head coaches in Todd Haley and Crennel. I thought Pioli would work wonders coming from New England. It never materialized.
The Kansas City Chiefs need a major cleansing. There will be sweeping changes.

Browns, Cardinals, Chiefs, Panthers, Raiders, Jaguars, Bills. Feels like it's these teams year after year. Just some poorly run franchises...Andy Reid is the only possible firing where I think teams will be blowing up his phone to get him to be head coach there.

I'm really hoping that Gruden goes back to the Raiders!

I'm a Raider fan and I'll agree with you here. Al Davis ran the team into the ground with bad drafting and even worse contracts. Luckily, nearly all of the bad contracts come off the books this offseason allowing GM Reggie McKenzie (former Raider and came from the Green Bay front office) to actually spend money smartly and build a team. I'm just hoping Al Davis' son stays out of Reggie's way.

So frickin jealous of what they have in Ames. It's truly amazing what Fred has done coming in with 0 coaching experience.

Lovie Smith will be gone if the Bears lose on Sunday. I think the same goes for Jason Garrett.

I used to pull for Lovie, but I'm ready to see him go.

2 time outs in a span of 3 plays last week was it for me

Rumors are that if Lovie Smith doesn't get the Bears into the playoffs, he might be gone too, which in my opinion would be a shame. In 9 years, the guy has been 18 games above .500 with 6 seasons at .500 or better. In the 9 years prior to his arrival, the Bears were 26 games under .500 with 2 seasons at .500 or better. He's been responsible for a dramatic shift in their franchise success and expectations.

I'm curious to see how all these jobs get filled. Does someone like Josh McDaniels get another shot somewhere? I'm guessing Jack Del Rio lands somewhere. What about TV analysts like Gruden, Cowher and Billick?

Don Banks from CNNSI, thinks that because Pioli has a close relationship with Clark Hunt, there's a chance that the Chiefs retain him for one more season, and if so Kirk Ferentz would be in the mix for head coach. I can't tell you how much that would make me laugh.

What if the Bears win, but the Vikings do too, and Chicago misses the playoffs? Does Lovie stay or go?

At this point, I would expect Lovie gone if he doesn't win one, probably 2 playoff games. I just think Emery wants his own guy in there.

However, I do agree with you. I don't think Lovie is that bad of a coach and I would like to see how he does with Emery running the show for a few years. The Bears got rid of Angelo, which was their biggest problem, IMO.

I should of said Lovie will be gone on Monday if the Bears are not in the playoffs. Like I said above, I think he is gone next season unless he wins one or two games in the playoffs.

agreed. I'd rather see Lovie run the show for a couple more years under the new GM. Players absolutely love playing for him.

Garrett won't be gone, and the fans won't call for his head. They know the problem is not Garrett, and the person who really runs the show likes the fact that Garrett has been the perfect marionette for him to put in fron of the camera after the losses. Jerry Jones shoul dhave a constant stream of eggs coming at his house this off-season.

As a Chiefs fan please NO! I am tired of Pioli drafting crappy hawk players.
