Liberty Bowl Apparel - where is it?

My wife and I have been looking for Liberty Bowl apparel and have not seen any. We live in Altoona and have been to the Hy-Vee, Walgreens & Walmart - nothing. I just went to Kohl's in Ankeny and they have about two or three racks of ISU t-shirts but no bowl t-shirts (they had probably 10 times the amount of UI apparel). Usually it is very easy to find - where are people getting their apparel?

Go to Scheels. I was there just the other day and they had a couple of different styles of shirts.

In before butthurt post about hawkeyes vs. clones ratio. (OP doesn't count, was a simple statement, not butthurtery)

I spent all of my apparel budget after the TCU win.

We got ours at Strawberry Patch in Ames. Also saw some at the local Hyvee Drustown and online at either cyclones.com or libertybowl.org.

Thanks for omitting me in the butthurt category. I was just wondering if the Liberty Bowl made it hard to license or something because for all other bowls it was easy to find bowl t-shirts, sweatshirts etc...

How hard are you looking? I live an hour from Ames and there are at least 3 stores with merch.

Check Sports Page by Wal-Mart in Altoona. I believe they had some at their Pella store and would assume they've got in Ames as well.

Unlike the Pinstripe Bowl last year, I expect there to be some decent stuff in Memphis.

One thing I've learned over the years is that 90% of bowl shirt prints are garbage. Who designs this stuff? All the gear at the Strawberry Patch in Ankeny had an ISU helmet with a gold stripe over the top. Maybe we're busting those out for the game.

Re: Liberty Bowl Apparel - where is it?

Was browsing around a Quad Cities sporting goods store (it was wall-to-wall Hawkeye crap) when a clerk asked if he could help. I asked him where the Iowa bowl shirts were ... when he told me Iowa wasn't going to a bowl this year, I responded, "oh, that's right... so where are your Liberty Bowl shirts?" I'm still looking for my shirt....
