    Lamest Xmas gift received?

My dear old grandmother - who was poor so I understand - gave me a dicky when I was probably 12 or 13. I'm 48 now.

Next in line - I wanted one of those Evel Kneivel motorcycles that you wind up and it takes off like a madman. i wanted it for about 3 years. My Dad finally got it for me - about 7 years later - when I was 15. NOT age appropriate.

Maybe the "lamest" part of this thread is people complaining about receiving gifts from those who obviously care.

A friend of mine is an over-the-road truck driver who had recently bought a coffee maker for the truck. His mom wrapped and gave him an empty Sunny D bottle to keep water in to make coffee with. We've been teasing him for years about receiving garbage as a gift.

Lamest gift was when I didn't believe in Christmas anymore.

    Re: Lamest Xmas gift received?

I've got an uncle who buys next year's Christmas gifts at WalMart the day after this Chritmas. He's done that forever. As you might guess, he doesn't put a lot of thought into what he buys.

One year he bought my wife and me a gawdawful throw pillow. A brown and orange duck. Trbl, even for WalMart. When we got home, we thought maybe the dog would like to lay on it and put it in his kennel. He immediately dragged it out of the kennel and looked at us as if to say, "Really? A duck?"

Most dogs, given the chance, would at least shred the pillow. He wanted nothing to do with it.

Old grandma gave me a pair of Chicago Bears socks. I am a die hard Packer fan. She made me put them on. I didn't have the heart to tell her they made me sick. Haha. Rip grandma

Today I received a can of static guard in my stocking

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than selfish and worry about my liver."

My wife got my 8 yo that has been really skeptical that Santa exists the same Lego set from Santa that she got him for his birthday (October 19). I've been explaining all morning how someone as magical as Santa could not know he already had one.

My aunt and uncle gave me one of these for x-mas one time:

Probably would have been neat if I was like 4 or 5 years old, but I think I was 13 at the time.

When I was like 6 or 7 my grandma got me a cup. A little plastic cup with a monkey. I was so disappointed. I am not sure I even kept that whole day. If I could have one gift back it would be that.

    Re: Lamest Xmas gift received?

My brother-in-law's birthday is December 25 so every Christmas his Mom, my Mother-in-law, makes him a German chocolate cake for his Christmas birthday. But, he hates that cake and she is so sure it's his favorite.

I try to cut her some slack because she has eight kids - how the heck could anyone keep track of everything with that many kids! Nonetheless, it never fails to make us all laugh and pick on him until he eats a piece of cake.
