Like the spread? I State will use it more and more...

As I State get's a receiving corp with the speed needed, better offensive line and a QB who is more accurate, we will see more and more spread offensive used in my view. McFarland is known for using the spread, but we simply don't have the players to run it. It will be interesting to watch the transition. We have some of the pieces, but not enough yet. Anyone else see this coming?

Arnaud and Robinson will look good in this offense for years to come.

We just need more speed recievers.

I love the spread offense, it spreads out the defense and can give a good runner with a decent line a chance to get some good yardage on the ground as well.

Not sure about speed, but Marquis Hamilton made some nice catches and think he's going to be a go to reciever next year for Arnaud or Bates whomever wins the QB battle.

I like the spread, but think that bets should have odds, too. This 1:1 junk is for the birds. Oh, wait... What are we talking about again?

Speedy receivers will help tremendously... but IMO the most important quality for our receivers will be blocking skills!! I don't know how many times I saw KU receivers manhandle our DB's and made the difference between a 5-10 yard play, and a 20+ yard play. It's another reason why those quick tosses to a wide receiver don't always work that well for us. The receivers didn't do a good job at holding their blocks.

So true. I got to be an eyewitness to this yesterday. KU didn't throw a pass further than 10 yards from the line of scrimmage basically. Their receivers on the edge are the key to the offense as they just killed our DB's physically.

BINGO! I discussed this with the guy i sat next too. it seemed like thier wr's would absolutely demolish our DB's on every play. This one large glaring flaw has really hurt the Clones all season.

Anything that will help our offensive output to become repectable again would be appreciated.

We had a terrible time getting off the blocks.

We need to use Bates like Kansas uses Meier. Get him at wide out, and then we can use some trickery with his athletic ability.

Re: Like the spread? I State will use it more and more...

I think the spread will be neccesary. The big 12 north was in many ways all about putting up points fast and furiously. ISU will need to match up better. KU/MU, and hell despite NU's issues this season they do have a pretty good offense. KSU isnt a slouch with the ball either.

The guy next to me at the Ku game gave Nu some serious praise about thier offense despite the shellacking on the scoreboard.

Mizzou does the same thing with Rucker, Coffman and Maclin. They line the 3 up wide on the same side and crush the defensive backs. It's almost impossible for the defense to stop... guaranteed 6 yards on every play but usually more than that.

KU has basically stolen Mizzou's playbook from the last couple years, and now it's time for us to steal their playbook... until the defenses figure out how to stop it.

Actually, the point is to be intuitive enough to change it BEFORE the defenses figure out how to stop it.

We better bring in a S%*t ton of WR this year then, most everyone will be an upperclassman next year. We need some high school seniors and not juco's. There arent a whole lot of guys listed for WR prospects on Rivals, not that they know all... far from it.
