Nope our season is over. Clyburn shouldn't start. We won't win 5 big 2 games. Will and Korie suck. Turnovers. No hustle or intensity.

But do they sweat more than Royce did?

    Don't forget that key element.

Clyburn is the best player in the Big 12 and will get drafted #1 overall. Can't see us losing a game in the Big 12. Who cares that our PG has been careless all year against inferior competition? He looks so cool doing it and turnovers aren't even that important. All we need is McGee to hit 6 threes per half and we will be fine. When has hustle ever been important in basketball anyway?

Two can play that game. This team has played a certain way for 75% of the season, and that way is not going to cut it in the Big 12. I was encouraged by the second half today though. 3 turnovers in the 2nd half compared to 10 in the first was the difference, along with McGee going absolutely nuts.

The differences between your post and the post you quote is that nobody has gone around saying the stuff you posted. Last night, I saw people claiming that Clyburn sucks (yet he leads our team in scoring), that Wil and Korie suck, that we won't more than 15 total games this year, etc.

So you can try to "play that game", but until you have a thread full of people claiming everything you did in your post, you cannot "play that game".

The best player from last year vs this years "terrible" player through their first 12 games:

Re: Clyburn to start playing better now?

Just let him play as a scorer, and he's fine.

Stop the point guard thing. That doesn't work. He's not gifted like Royce for that spot, and that's OK. Will's a different player. Let him do what he does do best.

Still shake my head about his disappearance from the Iowa game? Just doesn't seem to fit.

Re: Clyburn to start playing better now?

The only question I have is who should be point if Clyburn isn't when we are trying to not have Lucious play a full 40 minutes a game. Naz would be a good option but his defense has a long long ways to go. He isn't going to see any meaningful minutes in Big 12 play if he doesn't get better defensively.

That may be where my solution falls apart. I'm not convinced that I have a good answer.

I think I'd feel more comfortable with Babb or McGee spelling the point for a few minutes than Clyburn. I don't know that it would be better. It just sounds good to me.

McGee and Babb (especially Babb) have shown improved handles this year. McGee has the lowest turnover rate on the team right now. Despite the lack of experience, I would prefer either of them over Clyburn at this point.

This game was a little less than a year ago:

Cyclones Close 2011 With Win Over MVSU - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

People seem to only remember how last season finished, not the process to get there.

I am more impressed with McGee for that role. I McGee is a better ball-handler than Babb. Babb needs to keep the role of defensive stopper. He is absolutely tremendous at that. Also that gives us an option to generally throw off kilter the opposing team. I am in favor of McGee since that will also give him more playing time.
