Speaking of SEC, caught a ticker glimpse that Nutt won't be back to coach Arkansas next year. Don't know whether he got tossed or what but someone might want to tell Nebraska that there previous 'lock' of a coach is now available again.

Re: How about that Alabama game?

Saban lost a similar game early in his tenure at LSU to UAB...mark my words, Saban will have Alabama competing for the National Championship in 3-4 years.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Everything Saban touches is gold. He did an outstanding job in Miami.

Our Kent (3-8, 1-6) State (14-23 loss) - Clone game was similar to Iowa- Western (4-7, 2-4) Michigan (28-19 loss). No excuses.

    Except:
    1) we were on the road
    2) it was early in the season
    3) we had the lead and gave it away
    4) new coach
    5) learning a new scheme
    6) we wear red helmets

    Other than that I agree.

Except it was a home game, and Kent State dominated most of the game....

But you got me on the red helmets :D

Also, It was Western Michigan, a step below Central Michigan, that Iowa lost to.

Ignore what I said. Wrong game. It was early in the year though.

I think Chad is confusing our Kent State loss with the Toledo loss.

Yeah.....2 losses to MAC teams this year for us, glad Iowa could join the party.

Yup, and I'm not denying that Iowa's loss was bad :D

    Unfortunately.

Ah well, if I were a Cubs fan, I'd feel like throwing up after saying "Until next year."

Actually, he did not do that badly in Miami. They were 4-12 the year before he arrived and he promptly took them to 9-7. He finished his two year stint with the Dolphins at 15-17 overall. If you look at the records of NFL coaches you will find a lot of them that are right around .500 with the parity that exists in the league.

Having said that, Saban is clearly made for the college game (he is a major control freak and it's tough to exert control in the pros). He was 9-2 at Toledo, 34-24-1 at Michigan St., and 48-16 at LSU. I know that Toledo was struggling when he arrived and he promptly turned it around, I don't know about MSU, and at LSU they had been under .500 in the 10 years prior to his arrival in Baton Rouge.

He will win and win BIG at Bama!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
