Correct me if I'm wrong (Not a weather expert by any means) But isn't that snowfall totals for 12/18 - 12/29. Assuming we get 10 in (Guess) tmrw night/thurs that leaves 6-8 in by 12/29? Doesn't seem that unreasonable. IF that is completely wrong from what that model shows then disregard!

I believe you are reading that correctly as it was a 252 hour forecast.

Don't forget the sidewalks too. I used to live in small(er) town Iowa and I never worried about the big snow storm because at worst my drive around town would be slip slidin' around at about 20 mph. Now that I have to commute about 15 miles on I80/235 with a whole bunch of dumbasses trying to pass me, I get nervous when it snows a lot.

    Re: Midweek snow storm

The big question is, has the Weather Channel given this storm a name yet?

Edit: Yes they have- VIDEO: Winter Storm Draco: Blizzard Soon?

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

I don't know if they have. I'm torn between Dreamstealer and Hopecrusher.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I believe it's called Draco. Just another example of how TWC has become the Nancy Grace of weather.

Uh; according to the weather geeks on accuweather forums you are wrong; those totals are based on just the second storm snowfall. 8-14 inches for most of Iowa according to very early models for next weeks storm; that would put Des Moines at around 20 inches and Cedar Rapids around 20 inches if you combine the storms.

they should move to a farm, lol. Nothing like trying to get the milk to the calves fast enough so it doesn't freeze by the time they are done, pouring boiling water in their pails so they get unfrozen water for longer, trying to unfreeze all the other automatic waterers, and shoveling out all those hutches. Only to have them blown back in that night.

Makes me glad I'm in cubeland during the winter and not outside! And also that I live in an apartment and don't have to shovel anything. Though I'd be ok with maintenance guy not running the snowblower outside our window at 5am.
