This is being discussed in other threads, but it sounds like they are interested in poaching some of the other Catholic schools from the A-10 (SLU, Dayton, Xavier, etc) and possibly Gonzaga/ St. Mary's from the WCC and Creighton to form a Catholic Conference.

    For "I", for "S", forever!
For Iowa State all the way.
Let's go! To show them what the gang's all here for,
Go! To show them how the Cyclones cheer.
    For "I", for "S", forever!
For Iowa State do it right!
It's time to climb up on the vict'ry wagon,

The conference can be called The Sacred XIII.

McDoormast might have a tough time coaching against this eastern talent.

For some reason many think creighton will stay mo valley, but butler may go join them.... Which is odd because butler isn't catholic. I bet they land at 10 and play each other home and away.

they are just trying to avoid the mess around football and find stability. Since seven teams moved that have been together for five years they can do this and keep an automatic berth into the NCAA championship bracket.

Maybe they want to convert them.

GO and read Connecticut's forums and they've given up. Cincy fans still have hope they can pull an inside straight and save their football program, mostly hanging on the idea that Tom Tubs wouldn't have come there if they were going to the Sun Belt.

    Realignment for tv money sucks.

Personally, the most surprising thing about this story is that those are all Catholic schools. I had no idea. Maybe I'm just dumb, though.

I knew all of them were Catholic except for Providence. That one was surprising to me.

I'm just happy that basketball finally stood up to football. The league they form will be an impressive basketball conference.

Especially when you realize how easily we could be in Cincy's shoes right now.
