Re: Blog: Persistence pays for Rhoads in recruiting

Emmanuel Bibbs has taken an OU visit in addition to the two mentioned in your article.

Hopefully Rhoads can keep a couple of the wanderers committed. They would be tough to lose.

If we had to lose one, RB is the deepest position of the three. Suttles rivals doesn't show a Mizzou offer or even interest.

Yeah - part of the 'game'. It is how we secured Meeks & Campos. Would hurt to lose either Bibbs or Suttles, & Wimberly, too. TCU - hadn't heard them in on Wimberly yet. And Mizzou can suck it

Cant have your cake and eat it too.

It would be great if this only worked to ISU's advantage but realistically in todays CFB environment you are at risk to lose recruits as well as gain some.

“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...”

I haven't followed football recruiting until last year but it seems like we lost a lot more than we have gained, glad we finally evened that mark out a bit for this year's class.

I miss the days where we didn't have to battle anyone for players.

Re: Blog: Persistence pays for Rhoads in recruiting

We need to keep Suttles somehow IMO. Both Bibbs and Wimberly would hurt, but they are only 2 year guys, and one is a RB which isn't that big of a need anyway right now.

Suttles, however, had one of the most impressive highlight videos of anyone in this class IMO. I hope Rhoads can keep him.

I don't know why anyone thinks not getting Wimberly wouldn't be a big deal. There is a reason all these other schools are pushing hard for him. We don't have much RB experience after next season.

Yeah I've heard nothing but great things about him. Sounds like he could be an instant impact guy on the offense next season.

I didn't hear about Suttles looking elsewhere, I'd hate to lose any of those 3 guys. I guess thats the roller coaster of recruiting...especially at ISU. Can't have the ups without a few downs

I'm with you. Whereas the running game isn't in dire need, it could stand a boost. Its one of the areas of definciency in my opinion...in the sense that I cant say we have anyone who is gonna bust one for 75-80 yards. I think it was Johnson who had a 50 + yard run for a TD but aside from that I think the next longest run was for 35 or so. I think Wimberley would bring more of the long run potential and perhaps 5.0 yards per carry.

IF we had to lose one of the three...
