    Re: 12/11 Rankings

There is no reason that Mike Moreno isn't ranked by all 3 ranking polls now. 10-1 and a win over the previous AA, the previous #5 ranked Polz.

Iowa State will have to earn all their rankings. People don't believe Michael Moreno is that improved from last year. I know he is! 165 is a much more comfortable weight for him; he is back to how he looked his freshman year at 165 when we all had high hopes for him. Keep it rolling Moreno!

    Re: 12/11 Rankings

Here's the Intermat rankings for the Big XII and Iowa schools plus NDSU

    125:
    1. Matt McDonough - Iowa
    5. Trent Sprenkle - NDSU
    20. Ryak Finch - Iowa State

    133:
    3. Tony Ramos - Iowa
    7. Jon Morrison - Oklahoma State
    9. Cody Brewer - Oklahoma
    14. Levi Wolfensperger - UNI

    141:
    1. Kendric Maple - Oklahoma
    11. Mark Ballweg - Iowa
    17. Luke Goettl - Iowa State
    18. Nathan Pennesi - West Virginia

    149:
    1. Jordon Oliver
    12. Nick Lester - Oklahoma

    157:
    1. Derek St. John - Iowa
    9. Alex Dieringer - Oklahoma State
    12. Matt Lester - Oklahoma
    20. David Bonin - UNI

    165:
    3. Tyler Caldwell - Oklahoma State
    5. Bubby Graham - Oklahoma
    6. Steven Monk - NDSU
    19. Nick Moore - Iowa

    174:
    1. Chris Perry - Oklahoma State
    7. Mike Evens - Iowa

    184:
    7. Ethen Lofthouse - Iowa
    9. Ryan Loder - UNI
    13. Chris Chionuma - Oklahoma State
    17. Boaz Beard - Iowa State
    18. Mac Stoll - NDSU

    197:
    7. Blake Rosholt - Oklahoma State
    17. Kyven Gadson - Iowa State

    HWT:
    3. Alan Gelogaev - Oklahoma State
    5. Bobby Telford - Iowa
    18. Matt Gibson - Iowa State

    Team
    2. Oklahoma State (91.5)
    4. Iowa (86.5)
    11. Oklahoma (41)
    21. NDSU (22)
    36. UNI (6.5)
    41. Iowa State (5)

    52. West Virginia (1)

And I wouldn't freak out too much about NDSU being ranked so much higher as a team - almost all those points are from their 125/165 guys.

    Re: 12/11 Rankings

Beard will have a good test against Stoll at 184.
Ryak will have to be ready to go and be at his best to beat Sprenkle.
I know Moreno will be ready to battle Monk to show he is for real.
Meeks will also have a good match with Rodriquez.
Our other 6 guys need to perform and hopefully will be able to handle their guys.

    Re: 12/11 Rankings

#41 sounds like last year. What did we end up last year as a team?

Let my Fred's Posse Ride: Georges, Naz, Hogue, Bryce, Nader, Monte, Matt, and McKay.

    Re: 12/11 Rankings

    low 30's I think.

We need to have Finch, Meeks, Goettl, England/Weatherman, and Gibson to move up in the ranking. I think, all these guys are capable of being in the top 20 as well as Moreno, Beard and Gadsen. That's 8 out of 10 and I like the way Molina is wrestling and think he can pull some upsets.

    Re: 12/11 Rankings

Here are a couple more ranking services, the 1st is wrestling report and the second are d1collegewrestling.net

    125 -20/21
    133 -22/UR
    141 -18/19
    149 -UR/UR
    157 -UR/UR
    165 -15/25
    174 -23/UR
    184 -16/15
    197 -18/14
    HWT -20/18

Wrestling report has two team rankings one is NCAA scoring which we aren't ranked, the other is the Dual Percentage Index and we are #18 which is encouraging. We aren't ranked on d1collegewrestling.net. Wrestling report has 8/10 ranked which ain't to shabby. If we can get everyone who is ranked currently move up in the top 15 with a few top 10's I think its a big step in the right direction. Also if we get Mayfield back healthy i could see him being a top 20 guy, and if Molina continues to progress he could also be a top 20 guy.
