Our IM Flag Football team had an 11 game shutout streak that spanned two seasons. That was pretty impressive in the IM world.

won an intramural t-shirt each of my 4 years at ISU (2X Men's soccer, Co-Ed softball, D-League B-ball (got beat in the semis but the team used an illegal player))

Won a JV wrestling tournament my Junior year. Second match i should have been pinned in the second period but fought off my back for 40 seconds. Pinned the guy in the third. It was at Wilton (mascot is the Beavers), i still have my Golden Beaver somewhere at my parents house

Broke my driver (not out of anger) on the first hole of a major amateur golf tournament. Shot 69 using my 3-wood off the tee. 3rd best score of the day and beat out a lot of D1 college golfers.

    Re: Your greatest athletic achievement/moment

Like Tre, I am also not that athletic. I was a late bloomer and pretty uncoordinated.

I went to a high school with historically bad athletics though, so i got to participate even though I wasn't very good.

I wrestled and played football. I started out my Fr year as a 5'9 190 lb fat ***. I lost 45lbs that year. Before the next fall I had grown to 6' and was back at 190. I only lost 30 that year. My Jr and Sr years I played football at 210 and wrestled 189. I ended up 6'2 189 my Sr year. Too tall to really get leverage on the 5'10 189 opponents.

I didn't play a lot for football so my biggest achievement would have to have been in wrestling.

I wasn't that good, but by my Jr year, I wasn't terrible. I ended up 3rd at districts which was decent.

I think my fondest memory was my Jr year when we wrestled at SEP. I came out, tied up my opponent, flipped him straight to his back and pinned him in about 14 seconds. I was just a few seconds shy of my schools "Quick Pin" record.

Oh, I was often picked early for pickup basketball games with my friends at ISU due solely for the fact that there were only a few of us taller than 6'. My job was to rebound and try and make most of my layups.

38 yard pick 6 as a DL my freshman year was pretty cool. Conference Champ in tennis, also took a fastball right off the middle of my back from a kid that threw 90. That felt good

    Re: Your greatest athletic achievement/moment

Breaking 18:00 minutes in cross country was a pretty big achievement for me.

I also led the state in INT's thrown as junior in high-school. That one... not so much.

I also held Kirk Hinrich to 21 pts his senior year of high school. That was a season low I believe. I scored 0 pts.

    Re: Your greatest athletic achievement/moment

I was a lineman in high school and college so not a ton of individual stats besides all conference/state/ etc. But ended up being a 4 year starter in college at the D2 level. Got to go to participate at some NFL pro days and a couple individual workouts for some NFL teams, never made it past that but still cool to say I had a shot.

My other one was winning the ISU basketball camp hot shot competition summer before my junior year. The reward for winning was a half hour shooting session with Tim Floyd and Fred Hoiberg. At that time in my life it was the coolest thing to ever happen to me.

    Re: Your greatest athletic achievement/moment

I don't have many but there has been a few.

At 12, I hit a bases-loaded triple in Little League, off the best pitcher in the league (he was mature enough to be shaving).

Playing outfield for my Navy softball team, I ran down a long fly ball, snowconed it over my shoulder, and doubled up a guy at first base, who was already half-way to third.

Did a winter ascent of Long's Peak with a buddy, when I was 30.

Got my black belt in Taekwondo with the best scores I'd ever gotten on a test -- graded by a Karate HOF instructor.

    Re: Your greatest athletic achievement/moment

I spent my entire Sr State CC race thinking we were getting spanked because I miscounted the other team's guys ahead of me (I was our 3 and thought I was running with their 4 &5). Turns out it was there 3 and 4 and our 4 and 5 were right behind me, while our 6 almost beat their 5 and they were well back in the pack.

I though we'd lost for about 30 minutes after the race, until all our friends came running up and tackled us. I went from wanting to cry to crying for different reasons. We’d won the two years before, but lost most of our team and no one thought we’d be any good, so it was a nice little f-you to anyone who didn’t give us any credit.

Classic “Nobody Believes in Us” scenario.

    Re: Your greatest athletic achievement/moment

Not sure which thread this goes in.. but in football coming out of the huddle I tripped over our guard (I was tackle) and I caught myself with my hand behind my legs on the ground. If I moved I woulda been called for a false start but I stayed down and then got trucked when the play started. The only reason I'm putting this in here was that the play was supposed to be run right behind me and my teammate scored a 70 yard touchdown

    Re: Your greatest athletic achievement/moment

My first baseball game in high school I had to be a RP. Bases loaded, down by 2 with 2 outs. A guy named Johnny Coy (would later to be drafted by the Phillies and played with AZ State) was the batter I had to face. He was 3-3 with a HR already so I was a little nervous. Threw him 2 fastballs and a change up to strike him out looking. Best sports moment of my life.

(The next time I faced him, he took me yard. Still not sure if that ball has landed yet.)
