    Which Verizon Smartphone?

Looking into replacing the ol Droid X which I have been very happy with over the last 2 years. Would rather stay with droid over apple. I have had Motorolas forever and have had very good luck but dont have a clue what to do this time. Razr M possibly? I liked the razr hd but it seems like they pulled it for some reason. Samsung would be the other option but it seems friends samsungs batteries are always dead and several have had other issues with hardware/screens dying ect? Any suggestions appreciated.

I've had my sumsung S 3 for three weeks now, and love it. The selling feature for me was the larger screen then the iphone. No complaints

    Re: Which Verizon Smartphone?

My wife has a Samsung Galaxy S3 and loves it, as do a lot of other people I know.

I'm stuck with my iPhone 4 until May. If I was in the market for a new phone now I'd probably get a Motorola RAZR MAXX HD.

    Re: Which Verizon Smartphone?

Just upgraded my Droid X to a Droid Razr Maxx HD. I debated between the Razr and the S3. I don't think you go wrong with either phone. To me, the Razr Maxx HD feels a bit more sturdy than the S3 did. One downside of the Maxx HD is that it's pretty new and there aren't a ton of accessories for it that I could find. But those will come in time, I am sure.

One thing to note - if you want to keep an unlimited data plan (I'm assuming you have one), you will have to buy the phone straight up. I did the math on paying straight up vs. getting the subsidized phone with the new share plan and it ended up being a wash after 24 months. So I bought the phone straight up and have been streaming all the Game of Thrones and Dexter I want over the sweet, sweet 4G LTE speeds!

Go with either the Razr Maxx HD or the Galaxy Note 2. Both will give you good battery life and have nice big HD screens. The Note 2 also allows you to have two windows open at the same time. This allows you to be watching a video and checking your email at the same time.

I work outside and typically carry phone in front jeans pocket. Does the s3 feel grossly large and awkward? I didn't really want anything bigger than my x but maybe the thinner shape helps?

    Re: Which Verizon Smartphone?

I was looking this past week for new smart phones as well. I currently have a Motorola Droid Razr and it has worked well. My son wants an I-phone (I think image is more important to him that function). The salesmen at Verizon had a Samsung Galaxy, only a couple of week old. He had dropped it and it had major cracks across the screen, so he was not convinced of their durability. Not sure if this is a common issue, but something to at least question before buying.

If I was in the market for a phone right now I would look at the following.

    Razr Maxx HD
    Samsung Galaxy (the latest)
    Nokia Lumina 920 (windows)

S3 is the way to go. If you have big enough hands when the Note2 might be another good choice as it is primarily the same with a larger screen and a stylus.

If you want something to fit in the pocket nicely, then go with the Razr M or the Maxx HD. I have a Razr Maxx and carry it in my front pocket all the time with no issues.

I don't think that it it too large at all. It does make my ipod touch look small and out of date. I was also considering a Windows 8 phone...

This is the boat I'm currently in. I was also considering switching to Sprint, but not really wanting to lose Verizon's network.

Did you just buy the phone from Verizon, or did you find it cheaper from a 3rd party? Mind if I ask how much you paid for it?

    TIA
