    Re: Do we beat Minnesota?

I think we do. They have had their best player, McKenzie, hobbling a bit. I think we can key on him, and our frontcourt negates Tollackson. Coleman is good for them, too, and Abu-Shamala can light it up from 3, but so far this year hasn't.

Add in Hilton Magic, and this is a win.

    Re: Do we beat Minnesota?

I hope so, it'd be nice to get back on track. In my preseason predictions, I hoped that we would split the six after the first two.

Is anybody going to make a torrent of the game or anything? I'm actually going to be out of town and will have no way to watch it. I know lots of Gophers will want to watch it as well, they can't get it up in Minny.

I thought you meant in football, which my answer would have been a resounding "YES".

As for basketball, I sure hope so. These guys really need to come back and win it after a hard road loss.

    Like a rented mule.

License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations. Man, free to kill gophers at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior firepower and superior intelligence. And that's all she wrote.

    We need this mindset:

We'll win. Hilton will be packed and loud and will get the young ISU team back on track.

    Re: Do we beat Minnesota?

I think we will. I think Bradley was a wakeup call. Gave them a feel for what its going to be like and what they need to fix. There is only some much a coach can do. Sometimes the players need to experience it to realize it.

I just got my tix for this game and the only seats left are behind the hoops above the student sections. Should be a near full-house.

    Re: Do we beat Minnesota?

I think it all boils down to gaurd play. We're better than Minnesota everywhere else! At Bradley the inability of our gaurds to break down their pressure defense killed us. I'm sure Minny will watch the tape and try the same thing.

If we can handle & break down the pressure we win. Otherwise, I don't like our chances.

    Re: Do we beat Minnesota?

The game is at Hilton. We should have good crowd for our next games against Minny, UNI and Iowa. Those are must win games in my book. Then we need at least a split between Oregon state and Drake and we would be 6-2 with a pretty tough schedule.

Then we would have 7 games left with 5 of those pretty easy and 2 would be against Purdue and Alabama/Missouri St. So we need to win at least 5 of those. That puts us at 11-4 going into conference play. Who knows we may even get Lucca back or something.
