    Re: Malzahn back to Auburn?

New John Grisham book. A man goes through a rapid advance like never before seen in college football. After winning a National Championship as an OC by himself along with the help of a Heisman winning QB bought by "The System" the man schemes to tear down his former employer only to get the head coaching gig. This is an epic thriller that will leave your jaw on the floor through all of the twists and turns.

This was the obvious move, visible from miles away. Congrats to him. He can go ahead and do a fine job. or not. It's all good.

This nails my feelings exactly. Auburn was a punchline when Chizik was there - now they just go back to being an entitled football team that I don't really care about.

I wouldn't read it, but I'd probably rent the movie adaptation.

Besides Wisconsin, what other job is out there that is open? I highly doubt Rhoads would leave us for Wisconsin, but are there any other high end jobs? I was a little worried about Arky and Auburn. I guess Tennessee a little, but I think they are going to have to have somebody that makes a bigger splash and a bigger name. I've got a feeling the Pitt job will come open again, but not knowing where that program is going I don't think Rhoads will go back to Pitt.

So I would have to think we are safe for now.

Arkansas and Auburn were the two that were thrown out a lot, so it's nice to have those books closed. I haven't heard CPR mentioned for Tennessee at all, so that seems like a non-factor. Wisconsin opening up is a new annoying, little wrinkle, but I can't say I'm too worried about that. Pitt is a complete non-factor, imo.

    Re: Malzahn back to Auburn?

Does Mazlahn hire GC as his D coordinator? Does GC ask Mazlahn for a D coordinator interview? LOL at Gene. His assistant ran for safety, only to return once the exterminator cleared the area. I hope Gene puts that on his resume. "Top assistant flees only to return as soon as I was out."

The devil is hard at work against Gene, yet only he and his wife wonder why.

ESPN.com is reporting that Charlie Strong is on the top of Tennessee's list. So you can prolly take CPR off that list too.

    Re: Malzahn back to Auburn?

Gus left Auburn partly cause he couldn't stand the Chiz but he went to Arkansas State to go back to the state of Arkansas where he was a helluva high school coach. I wasn't surprised he ended up back at Auburn but was surprised that he didn't end up at Arkansas.

Would be a great hire for Tennessee.

I read at the Slate.com (or AL.com) - can't remember exactly - that after winning the NC the Chiz was offended because almost all of the credits went to Malzahn (and his high-power offense) , so he wanted to show everyone that it was "HIS" offense, not Malzahn and ended up taking more play calling role and stiffled Malzahn's play callings.

Hard to believe Malzahn was nothing more than a high school football coach in 2005.
