Sophomore guard Alexia Standish Leaves Texas A&M team

I found this pretty interesting. Sounds like quitting basketball and staying at Texas A&M to receive degree.

Just hope she does not decide to transfer to Baylor TCU or Texas (should not be here as they hate each other).

Re: Sophomore guard Alexia Standish Leaves Texas A&M team

Some quotes from Gary Blair's weekly media conference:

"She's lost the passion for the game, and that's just something that's hard for me to fathom is because this is a kid that loves the game."

"She told me to tell them [other schools calling on her] that she wasn't interested."

"Back to Lexi (got interrupted by a phone call), it hurt. I've never lost a player in 28 years during a season. I've never lost a starter in my life, and it hurts because she was my recruit."

"She's been going through a lot of pain. She's been playing with pain, but that's not the reason. She's learned how to manage..."

Gary also said he hopes it's not the end of basketball for her, but at their meeting she said she was done.

It sounds like she's burned out. I hear it happening it monotonous sports like swimming, but not so much with basketball.
