    Bowl Game Attendance

Not sure if this has been covered elsewhere, but I looked into past bowl game attendance numbers. Recognizing that Tulsa probably won't bring as many as Georgia or other schools teams near Memphis, will we get to at least 80% capacity?

    Attendance Capacity Percentage
    2010 Insight Bowl (ISU v. Minn): 53,453 71,706 74.54%
    2011 Pinstripe Bowl (ISU v. Rutgers): 38,328 52,328 73.25%

    2010 Liberty Bowl (Georgia v. UCF): 51,231 61,008 83.97%
    2011 Liberty Bowl (Cinn v. Vanderbilt): 57,103 61,008 93.60%

    Re: Bowl Game Attendance

I would expect attendance to be a little lower at least just due to proximity being not as close, but that doesn't mean ISU won't sell out its allotment.

Orange Bowl should be okay. NIU owns 17,000 tickets as their contribution. That is a cool $2m. Call Stubhub now.

How many $55 tickets are we suppose to sell?

    Re: Bowl Game Attendance

I would be a little surprised if we don't need additional tickets. This bowl is closer than NYC, warmer than NYC, and cheaper than NYC. We have more season ticket holders now as well as more students who are excited and can go due to the proximity and cost.

What did we go through last year? We definitely asked for additional tickets after our allotment, right?

Because of the cheap tickets I expect a higher percentage to go through the school as well which will boost official numbers. I think 20k is about right for a prediction.

    Re: Bowl Game Attendance

This really needs to be a "home game" for us. People should buck up and go and bring a few extra people with them too. Hell, if money is tight, skip the hotel and drive down, go to the game, and drive home. Can probably do that for under $100 a piece for a carload if you pack some coolers with beverages and food.

    Re: Bowl Game Attendance

I have a hard time seeing us sell our allotment. I just have the feeling a lot of people are a little upset with the rematch. I hope Cyclone Nation proves me wrong though.

    Pollard tweet:
"Sold nearly 2,500 bowl tix already. Great start by our fans. What if every season tix holder bought a $55 bowl tix. Sellout?"
